ABIT BX6 CPU how high can you go?

I have this older MoBo and I would like to build it up. It offically supports Celeron 533Mhz(66Mhz FSB) CPUs and PIII 600Mhz(100Mhz FSB) CPUs. Whats the the highest CPU you got on it?

It will support all 100Mhz bus CPU's. Since the multiplier is locked on these CPU's, the memory will really let you know how fast you can clock it (as long as the CPU can take it).

I have a P3-700/100mhz running at 822mhz at the stock voltage(my current memory is the limiting factor)

Essentially, a FCPGA P3-850/100 is the biggest you can run, but have not seen any with that set up. I know for a fact that a FCPGA P3-800/100 works

Did you Max the multiplier and bump the Bus speed to get that?

850Mhz (8.5 x 100) is the highest suported in the last bios.

I dont see why you can't run at 133Mhz successfully, so a 933Mhz should work but I have not tried it. You need to ensure that your graphics card can take an 89Mhz AGP bus speed.

Does anyone recall if the TNT2 or V3 2000 has a problem with 89Mhs AGP BUS speed?

I've got a TNT2 running at 86 on a BX6 Rev2. My system won't run at 133 FSB, 129 is as high as I can get. I believe it's because of the TNT. I think it's maxed out.

Haven't tried any other video cards to tell you for sure.

As I stated, the multiplier is locked. Changing it makes no difference

You can play with the bus speed. Having high quality ram really makes things easier. All you can hope next is a CPU that does not need too much voltage over stock!

If I were you, I would just buy a FCPGA P3-800/100 and, kick it up a notch.

PS. Buy a good fan/heatsink too
