Flasher702 with 1 post, welcome to the boards.

I would suggest you look at "Cedar Mill" Celeron D chips because those are on the 65nm process and have double the cache at 512k. I picked up a Celeron D 347 for $46 plus shipping at eWiz. Just look for the 512k cache Celeron D chips.

Haha, AMD hides this under "other chipsets." Guess they don't really want to admit to making a chipset for Intel CPUs.

ATI Radeon? Xpress 1250 (for Intel)
Supports Front Side Bus (FSB) speeds 533, 800, and 1066MHz*.
*Note: Not all variants support all FSB speeds
I take that to mean there may be a cheaper version that doesn't do 1066MHz, not that there's one that drops support for 533MHz.

Highest reported OC so far is 370fsb on this mobo. Not too shabby for Conroe mATX. Hopefully a bios update will make 400fsb possible. Also I hope other manufacturers take notice of what ABIT is doing and make some good OCing Conroe mATX mobos too. The technology is certainly there.

Has anyone tried installing a 533mhz FSB processor on this board (ex: Celeron D 331)? Abit says they support only 800 and 1066mhz FSB CPUs but the BIOS can reportedly be set to 533. For $40 I might just get one and test it out. Would make for a very cheap HTPC.

Thanks for the order Arriving on the 14th? Crazy UPS, hopefully it arrives earlier. You must have been my CA customer

Enjoy!

Yes, I'm running a 331 Celeron right now. It's on default voltage and running @ 3.7Ghz which is a good OC from 2.66Ghz I feel. With additional V I can probably take it further. It's ~50-55C @ load with the BIOS fan control targetting 50C! Getting 42s SuperPI @ this clock speed.

Memory is speed is unaffected by CPU OC, the board keeps mem speed that's set, good for high CPU clock but I can't see how to OC the mem though.

The GPU is clocked @ 500Mhz, not 400Mhz like in some reviews of AMD boards. And gives me 916 in 3dmark05 with CPU @ 3.7

Excellent. I'll order myself a celery when I order ram most likely then Just have to figure out what to do with it when I get my e4300 though.

185mhz FSB... meh. Not going to be able to go too high with a 20x multi though xD

...what? That doesn't make sense. Are you sure? Have you run something like SiSoft SANDRA to confirm your memory speeds? What memory are you using?
EDIT: I see it being reported other places now also. How odd. I guess I'll check it out.

How much memory did you allocate to GFX? I'm hoping it can at least run games as I want to hold off on buying a new GFX card for a bit.

ive tested 2 of these F*** F-I90HD and both of them suffer the same problem:
They cant install/load OS with whatever USB device plugged in. Even usb mices..

Bios is updated to m612a11.zip from ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/bios/fi90hd/
but problem its stil present !

test configuration:
cpu - p4630/640
hdd - wd3200ks/1600aajs/seagate250 (all satas)
mem - corsair vs512mb667/corsair8000ul2x512mb
psu - antec minuet's psu/sirtec500w
vga - onboard.

mobos rev. are 1.00.

Looks like i have to wait for a proper bios update. Abit .....

I am curious: Can you convert the HDMI output to VGA/ D-Sub? I see that the packing list includes a HDMI -> DVI converter, but I am curious if I could convert that to analog VGA. I am considering to get this for my mom and she has a VGA CRT at this point, but may more to LCD within the next year.

nevermind I am an idiot, it has a D-sub connector...

Update: now running at 4ghz prime95 stable for 83hrs (went on holiday!) which is a superPI of 39s

Yep can confirm definately the case! my 533 ram is at 533 all the time in all utilities that I try. Until I decided to overclock it to 667, haven't tried 800 yet?!?!

I allocated 256Mb memory but have found that it fails with 512Mb although I have 2 x 512 sticks and 2 x 256 sticks - so maybe smallest stick size is lowest allowed. Can run bf2 on low detail when set at 256mb though which makes me happy.

This happened with the NF-M2 nView board as well but only with regards to getting into the BIOS at certain stages of boot-up. So far I haven't heard of any other problems with this board.

I have no issues with Blu-ray playback at 720P, 1080P is not fully supported yet. Our Asus M2A-VM has HDMI on a breakout card so it concerns me why Ryan did not receive one.

6400 isn't it? It is on the mATX round up page.

For those wondering where these boards are...I got 100 for pre-order starting tomorrow or Thursday. Don't look for them to last too long though

(check sig for website)
