What's the deal with bad boards? Why is this model such a crap shoot?

Abit hasn't been the same since those guys left for dfi.
I would say that the mobos that they are building now (since the USI investment) are great on the hardware level but that their BIOS dev is a little slow.Originally posted by: Puffnstuff

OK silly question time!!!
I just spent the last 3 hours reading the Hard forum post on this motherboard and this one as well. I LOVE the fact this mobo has on board HDMI and I would LOVE to use it on my 40 inch LCD. The question I have is it possible to use the HDMI connection for audio and video if I use an add in Video card like the 7800GT I have lying around? I know this is probably a big NO but it would be awesome if I could since that would mean I wouldn't have to have a separate cable for audio.
Thanx

Yes, but with a non HDCP card like the 7800GT, you won't be able to play HD DVDs or Blu-ray discs.

Any chance on getting firewire in this thing? I was hoping to use my 7800GT and Audigy 2 (the original!) in college for a while with it in a Thermaltake case with a E6600 and 2GB of RAM.
Edit: Any chance I could use the Firewire port on the sound card as a normal firewire?

Ok this is my experience with this board...
Im using Vista x32, and 512mb onboard video won't work on Vista, maybe XP.
Overclocking while using the 256mb onboard video is flakey. Im getting 2.8ghz max with a E4300. Orthos & Super pi stable for 4hrs, but when I play Unreal 2004 it freezes. I am confused.
Any suggestions?

I even disabled fanEQ in BIOS. That didn't work either.
