Is it just me or does ASRock seem like a completely horrible name? I mean, even if you said it "Ey Ess Rock" instead of "Ass Rock", it would still just sound like "Ass Rock" in a southern accent.

My Abit KG7 (non-raid) was a pretty good way for me to start socket A. But it did give me problems and I did move to an ASUS A7N8X and stopped thinking about them. Now I'm on a DFI and will probably stick with them for a couple platform changes.

Shame, they used to make good video cards for Nvidia chips.

I used to buy Abit many years ago but now I just really care about the chipset/price and little about the board maker. My current board is a Soltek and it works just fine. I am sure the performance is the same as the Abit board with the same chipset minus the price and brand.

Let 'em go as far as I'm concerned. I'll never buy Abit again. Aside from the BH6 they've sucked... I've got an IC7-Max3 that had 2 fans go bad and would not clock 1Mhz over stock. Might as well have gone Dell.

I'm in the same boat. This AN8-Ultra has been awesome for the past few weeks I've had it. Not a problem at all with it (or my previous ABIT board, socket 754 KV8). Sad that they're experiencing such problems. Hopefully things can be turned around.

owned kt7(best), kr7r, at7 max and currently running a NF7 -s v2 (worst).

I respect Abit. They were the first to step up and admit that they had capacitor problems and they were willing to do something about it. People demonized Abit for using the bad capacitors in the first place until they realized that all their other crap from other manufacturers (Including IBM!) was failing for the same reason and they couldn't RMA because their warranty was out and their POS manufacturer never owned up to the problem like Abit did.

I started with an dual-Celeron Abit BP6 and finished with a dual-core Abit AN8-SLI and I only wish I had used Abit boards in between (Every Intel, MSI and Asus board I had in between FAILED). I will miss them.
