Abit IC7 875P chipset motherboard

I plan on getting this motherboard, but I have a few questions.

1. This board does not come with an integrated 10/100 LAN controller. Will a Netgear 10/100 Ethernet LAN PCI card 3 years old work just as well and give me just as good of performance and compatibility as the modern integrated 10/100 LAN controllers do? Using this 3 year old Netgear Ethernet card won't slow down overall system performance either right?

2. This board has SATA RAID. I know I don't have to use it, but will having RAID on this board cause worse performance and more bugs and compatibility problems than if you just had SATA without RAID

1. No it woun't slow down and it should work fine.

Even if for some crazy reason your old Netgear card dies, you can pick up a reliable 10/100 NIC anymore for less than $15. Even on my University's DS-3, my 5 year old ethernet card never was a bottleneck
