I just spoke with ExcaliberPC and was told the IC7 is expected within a couple of weeks. They have no ETA on the IC7-G. Since Excaliber is practically next door to the ABIT distribution center, I assume that they would be one of the first to get them in stock.

IC7 available at azzo now; in stock is expected 4-23; price is $180; just ordered one along with lots of others!

Also, the G is expected in on 4-25; pricing is $240

-G adds gigabit Intel ethernet (w/ CSA bus) and spdif input for the onboard audio.

Both are useless for me, so it looks like the IC7 will be my next board. 180$ is reasonable.

The IC7 has no LAN at all though

This is straight from Abit on their forums:
IC7 has NO LAN what so ever because the CSA Gigabit LAN chipset is not Pin to Pin compatible with the IC7. Also the board does not have Serillel converter included and 2 less SATA connectors.

IC7-G has CSA Intel Gigabit LAN, Serillel, and DUAL SATA Raid. (ICH5-R and Silicon Image)

Ok asking stupid noob question...does this mean it doesn't support DSL, cable? what does that mean?

Also, has anyone seen any reviews on these MB's yet?

No, it means the board does not have any onboard 10/100 Network/Ethernet or whatever you call it. You will have to purchase your own PCI network adapter in order to connect to the internet (DSL or cable) and networking. As far as my concern, it's not too much of a big deal, cause I have a lot of nics lying around.

Cool that's what I was hoping it meant. So to translate the G model has a built in sound and NIC card while the plain one doesn't, correct? It seems like a no brainer to go with the plain one, least for me, I already have an audigy 2 card and nics are super cheap.

I guess the Abit guy was wrong. Abit's website (Link) lists 10/100 LAN as a feature of the IC7. Looks like the IC7 is THE Canterwood motherboard to get.

From Abit's website -
ABIT P4 Motherboard IC7-G Max2 Advance
- Hyper-Threading Technology
Intel 875P Pentium® 4 Socket 478 FSB 800MHz DDR400 ATX Mainboard (2 x Dual Serial ATA 150 RAID, AGP 8X, 4 x Dual Channel DDR 400 DIMM, 5 x PCI, 2 x IEEE1394a, & Intel® CSA Gigabit LAN).
ABIT P4 Motherboard IC7
- Hyper-Threading Technology
Intel 875P Pentium® 4 Socket 478 FSB 800MHz DDR400 ATX Mainboard (2 channels Serial ATA 150 RAID 0, AGP 8X, 4 x Dual Channel DDR 400 DIMM, 5 x PCI, 3 x IEEE1394a, & 10/100 LAN).

LOLOL, looks like there is an Abit rep. checking on this thread, I just click on the link and they changed the spec already! No More 10/100 LAN!

I dont want to spend more than $200 on a mobo, I need lan. Looks like springdale for me.

The canterwood motherboards page still had 10/100 LAN listed as a feature

Dude, you can get a PCI 10/100 NIC for like free after rebate. Unless you're starved for PCI slots, suck it up and get one

Arent those NICs bad quality and have high CPU usage?

I've got a D-Link 530TX+ with a RealTek 8139 chipset and I don't notice a difference one way or the other. Got it for free after rebate at OfficeMax
