Am I alone to think that at $77 shipped after MIR this deal is not as attractive as say Gigabyte P35 boards for $20 more shipped, but no MIR involved and all solid caps?

Depends on whether the Gigabytes overclock as well as this board.

For the solid caps, most overclockers upgrade far sooner than the lifetime of the cheaper caps. I know I do, so I don't have a desire to spend an extra $20.

I believe it's a decent overclock, it might not be as good as Abit IP35-E, but it should still be very good.

Regarding longevity, it depends on situation. Originally I wanted IP35-E for a future HTPC build, in which case at $67 it was a bargain and longevity wouldn't have been as much of an issue since on average computer would be on for less than 3-4 hours a day (more on weekends). However $77 pricetag and rebate makes me rethink the situation considering Gigabyte board goes for $97 and has all solid caps.

This is from a review of the IP35-E "Comes will all Japanese capacitors and low-profile solid caps at the CPU power regulation circuit." My understanding is it has solid caps for all the more important parts, or at least those most likely to be impacted by cheaper capacitors.

I save sooo much money by being indecisive: 'finally logged on to buy the card and they've increased the price again... so No Sale! When I think of all the money I've saved this year by missing Great Sales, I just want to curl up and cry!

Sweet deal, but a bit late for me. Got a DS3L for $89 shipped at clubit instead while it was being price gouged.

Edit: DAMMIT it's down to $60 again AR. I hate my life.

Did you check out the other rosewill cooler that looks like the AC7pro ?

that might fit. it looks like it has a slimmer body on it.

How is ABIT's rebate ? Do they give you any hassles in paying out ?

Thanks OP.
I finally bought. 2 down (mobo, memory), 2 to go. Just have to decide on a CPU and a graphics card. Does anyone remember a graphics hard that was posted here for less than $100 that included a HDMI cable?
But which OS? XP, Vista, or Ubuntu? Hmmmm.

Dog slow. I submitted two rebates to them two months ago, still waiting. Might have to call them in a couple of weeks.

I ended up ordering one.
I guess I can wait a bit. But I will bitch if it takes more than the listed time.

68 bucks out the door after rebate... is not to shabby.

I can finally use the extra ram sticks I have laying around from the HP deal

I got mine yesterday and I paid 109$ plus tax, now it's 20$ cheaper, time to get a refund

Btw mine came with BIOS 15, therefore good E8400 support, which is arriving tonight!

Nice I got the whole difference back, great job Newegg on the customer support!

Is this the heatsink your talking about??

I got that one when it was on the e-mail deal last week.

The fan stays under 1500rpm / 55c with a 4500 @ 3.3 with 1.43 volts

the fans max rpm is at about 2500 if i remember right.

seems to work pretty well
