Yes...60 to 62C under Orthos large mode with Vcore = VID plus 100%. Use the highest stable FSB.

You can wire the two 0.20A fans in parallel to the SYSTEM fan header if you want the board to control the speed of those fans. Use 3 pin settting instead of the default 4 pin in the BIOS. With on-board fan control enabled, all fans connected to the CPU and SYSTEM fan headers will only run at full speed when the CPU temp exceeds a preset number. This reduces stress on the output devices and case noise level when the PC is not under full load.

Cheers, Serpent. I am running all three fans now with the 3 pin BIOS setting. Haven't tried connecting the two Scythe case fans in parallel, so I will give that a try.

50C is a good target temperature with 12/14 BIOS. SYSTEM header should also use 50C CPU as the reference temp.

BTW, there is no need to connect the 3rd rpm wire. The board will still be able to control the fan speed with only two wires (+ red and - black from each fan).

In general, a board that can hit 525MHz FSB isn't plagued by noise. I'm not aware of anyone who has tested this board with these newer chips.

Well the first causulty of my o/c has appeard, one of my G.skill ram sticks died.. fine im now gonna go for some faster ram so i dont have to overclock it, the only ram i can get at 1066mhz easy is OCZ Reaper that way i dont need to o/c my ram as it be running lower than what its rate, erm i did read problems with OCZ and this board but im asking you if there ok or not? i got spare ram to force the mobo to boot at 2.3v if thats needed for the ram. im still at 3.8gigs tho hehe.

Cheers.

Oh i was also thinking of the Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 PC2-8500C5 or the Tracer version but i assume the Tracer is the same as the standerd but with funky lights.. i will read into these before buying but which would you suggest, they are all in my price range but the OCZ are most exspesice by a good 25 pound but the cheapest there is OCZ 2GB PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition.. i assume not having SLI will not matter.

Unfortantly there isent any uk style http://www.newegg.com other than overclockers.co.uk that have a large slection of ram, i did just want 900 or 1000mhz ram but its prooving hard to find, im a G.skill man myself but i cant find any rated higher than 800mhz in the UK so my options are very limited..

Mehh newegg Pwns overclockers on selection.

I would recommend these N5 modules if you have IP35 boards. Look for N5 in the part number. RAM should come in a black plastic tray with clear lid.

You'll probably need to update the BIOS.

I would avoid any non-JEDEC 1.8V dimm. Quality 1.8V DDR2 800 RAM should be able to run at 400MHz/4-4-4-12-2T. Raising Vdimm to 2.1 should net +450MHz/4-4-4-12-2T.

It's best to stick with default 9x multi. 8x may work. Reflash to 12 BIOS using WB switch. Turn off PSU and clear CMOS. Restart PC and try 8x mult.

Rebate check showed up yesterday ($20).

Sent in the upc and invoice from a $45.50 open box mobo back in October. Christmas came a few days early this year, and the board has been running great.

Can anyone run SHUTDOWN with WXP Pro? I clicked on this but the PC will not shutdown. Works fine with my NF4 board but no go with IP35-E and WXP SP1, SP2, or the latest SP3 RC.

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe

Just tried 'shutdown -s' on my IP35 board and it worked without problems. Running 32 bit XP Pro with SP2 and all patches upto December. Not really sure what BIOS version it has but I haven't flashed it so far, so it's just the default.

I really don't get it, I can not even get a stable 3000mhz oc. (was hoping to get 3.2-3.3 with this rig)

My setup is:
Q6600 G0
Abit IP35 Pro (Not very different from the -e I guess)
Scythe Infinity
2x2gb Kingston pc2-800
8800gts 512
Antec P182 All fans at low speed
Corsair 620w

Just now I tried 3gz @ 9 multiplier. at 61 degress at hottest core the computer froze.

Also tried 3gz with a 8 multiplier, but then the computer would not even post. (tried 1.35 and 1.4 vcore)

Any idears?

Load temps and other at 2.7gz stock vcore 9multiplier Picture this also froze just moments after I posted the screenshot

Are those Kingston valueram rated at 1.8Vdimm? Pull power from the PSU. Remove battery and clear CMOS for 1/2 hour. Reboot PC. Go into BIOS and load Optimized Default. Boot back to BIOS 2nd time. Change memory divider to 1:1. Raise Vcore to VID plus 5%. Change FSB to 333. Hit F10 to save.

I am running 4-4-4-12 at 2V which I think they are rated at

On air is 1.4Vcore too much? I got into windows with 9x370 and ran prime95 for a minut or 2 before I got a bsod with 1.35

VID plus 10% is safe if your maximum Prime95 temp under Coretemp 0.95.4 is under 60 to 65C. Be sure to use 1:1 memory divider.

Please HELP!
I have been using the motherboard without any problem for 4 months. After vacation, I tried to wake up the machine from sleep and I got blank screen, with my 8800GT fan running at high (which should only happen for the first 1~2 sec after any restart).

I did a hard restart, same problem and there is even no dual boot I typically experienced. Only all the fans are running as normal.

Clearing CMOS, unplug PSU does not help either...

Last time when I had memory problem, it hang up after dual boot. This time, it won't even do that

Is the motherboard dead? btw I did not do any OC on this machine.

Abit have removed the IP35-E from the global main webpage, in it's place sits the inferior IP35V which looks cheap, ugly and on looks alone I would not want to buy one. Abit must be crazy if they are killing off IP35-E, this board has become something of a cult classic for overclockers on a budget, I suspect the IP35-E performance may have been too good and possibly detracting from the sales of higher end Abit boards. Are we now all doomed to buy Asus boards to get our cheap overclocking kicks .... shame on you Abit for punking out!

You may have a boad with a defective surface mount transistor. If the ambient temperature is under 60F, then the board will not post. There's a discussion about this issue a few pages back including link to the location of the suspect transistor. Get a hair dryer and GENTLY heat up the affected area (lowest heat setting). Now see if the board will start.

If you're lazy, then wait for room temp to go above 70F and restart PC.

Never leave the PC in sleep mode for extended period of in-activity. A power surge can damage the equipment. Turn off the PC, or better...pull the plug from the wall if you go on vacation.

Those are the highlighted products (maximum profit margin)...IX38 QuadGT, IP35 Pro, and IP35V. I have no hands-on experience with IX38.

My Pro board reached the same maximum FSB speed as my E board (488MHz). One user was able to overclock IP35-E @ 525MHz. He could POST at 550MHz but system was not stable. Most people don't need 1394a, eSATA, extra SATA ports, and dual GPU.

IP35V is a dog. To save $, Abit went with ICH7 southbridge and a cheaper power module. Fair value is $40.
