I wonder why the IC7 is only priced @ $158.00 in comparison?Kind of high $ for me. I ordered the MSI for $105. I'll have it this week.

Oh yeah... The Gigabit LAN.
EDIT: I decided to let the smoke clear for a change, and see what happens since many Forum members have received and will be receiving Canterwoods soon. I probably will end up with the IC7-G. More for the extra SATA ports than the CSA GL since I am toying with the idea of purchasing a couple of Raptors... I always did like the extra IDE ports that the IT7 had, and actually used them, as I am sure that the extra SATA ports will come in handy for me on the IC7-G. I am curious about the MSI offerings, but I am not holding my breath... (If OC'ing and overall performance turns out well, I may consider one though)
IS7-E no firewire or serial raid onboard( uses ICH5 instead of ICH5R)Originally posted by: Pluto
Confused, what is the difference between the IS7, IS7-E, IS7-G.... IS7-G obviously has firewire but I cant tell what the other differences are between the three models.

IS7-G Raid via ICH5R and on board Silicon Image chip. Gigabit lan
IS7 raid via ICH5R only regular 10/100lan(though some said they have boards with gigabit lan chip on board)

Remember the IS7-E is based on the 865P chipset... not the 865PE, hence no 800Mhz FSB support. Definitely a major difference there.
Everyone I've heard of getting the IS7 has reported their board has the 3Com Gigabit LAN as well, though the specs say otherwise.
Abit seems disinclined to comment.

Also if you go into the specifications it says it does have the ICH5 RAID...
It does appear that IS7-E does not have firewire, but that could be the only difference between it and IS7
