Abit KG7-RAID for $59 in BA Fry's

Are they "Refurbs"?

Cuz FRYs has a habit of selling refurbs. Just last week I saw them selling the Canon Scanner 1220U/1240U for $69.99 (all refurbs).

are you sure it is the RAID version and not the Lite? are you sure it is not a refurb? are you sure you are not on crack!?

Most of them are with the retrun labels (like many other Fry's products , Some of them are with the bad boxes. The sales said they can open it if I want to buy one.

I am pretty sure it's RAID. It's clearly labeled. AMD 761 chipset.

Wow, nice find. I gotta check the local fry's if they have this deal going. Granted there are new Abit boards, but this is still a good deal especially if it has RAID.

I think these are "as is" MBs. Look at my other thread concerning cheap motherboards at the Sunnyvale Frys.

yes, these have been violated. most are missing parts or dont even work. not sure why fengpc didnt mention this considering it's pretty important. last time i checked they had about 4 of these along with other kt133/a boards.

I did a check this evening again, I think the sales misled me this morning, she said the box was broken but it's basically new (the ones that w/o return labels), the one that I checked did has everything in the box.

One thing does make this deal cold - the sales said no return for special priced items.

Anyway, I think it's better than the $29 ECS K75A I saw last time (w/o box) at Fry's if you are willing to take chance.

Just a warning. I built a box from this board. It was unstable as hell with a 340 W PS, so I bought the 430 W Enermax everyone swears by, it was still unstable as hell. The board has serious bios issues with recognizing CD Drives even with latest revision. Once it stops booting, clearing bios and resetting then booting under incorrect speed first and then boosting to correct speed (not overclocked) was the only way to get it to boot.

I also built one at the same time, identical in every component except with non-raid Mobo. It also is quirky, but usable. The Zip Drive seems to forget how to read disks formatted on other machines and the A: drive has similar issues. But, it currently is being used, whereas the Raid box is sitting by my feet.

I'm currently waiting on a new board, and wouldn't touch a KG if you paid me.

I have a Kg7 Lite since August. The flawless mobo is super stable w/ AYHJA @1466 and I'd buy another.

i have a KG7-RAID since July and it's working great with my stock 350Watts PSU. I paid $160 for it. Awesome board.

I'm 99% sure this is because of the Fry's disputes with ABIT. ITs very likey lthat fry's will not carry abit motehrboards for a while because of their relations with abit. they've had disputes about returning motherboards to the manufacturer and stuff. its probably so cheap because they want to get rid of then hence the no return policy. woudnt be surprised if it was a nationwide fry's price. BTW the KG7-RAID ROXORZ, i've ade 4 comps witht hat motherbaord, stable like none other, and just great all around quality... just make sure you get the latest BIOS after you buy it.
