Abit KR7A-Raid deliveries slipping ??

Last week newegg had this board listed as an eta of late november & a price of $161. It disappeared for a few days, but now it is back with an eta of early December and a price of $185.

Has anyone placed orders for this puppy anywhere else & had feedback that shipments might be a bit late?

i just ordered mine today from allstar/smk as listed on pricewatch... price was 168 + shipping... they said it would be shipped directly from the vendor and that would probably be tomorrow (tuesday)... i figured ordering from these people i can take some time off of delivery by skipping the middle man...

Please post your experiences/results with this board. I want one...but don't have the ballz to be the Guinea Piggie. Good luck. I love Abit. I'm hoping this is my next mobo.

OK, I confess - I was weak. After starting this thread I read the Tom's Hardware review of KT266A & nForce boards. After reading that I went out & bought the Soyo Dragon Plus & XP1700+ combo from Fry's for $309..... plus 2 sticks of corsair pc2400 cas 2 memory.

I feel so cheap, I went instant gratification instead of waiting for the board I was longing for. But then again it does mean that when my Lian Li 62 case etc arrive on Friday I will be ready to build on the weekend

Yeah I know I'm a sell out - but my only consolation is that what I'm really waiting for is the Dual cpu mpx boards to hit the street. When those puppies arrive this becomes my #2 box & I can get rid of my PIII 666 ( I'll keep the 866). Hey at least I recognised the error of my ways & I'm going for AMD instead of P4 (so how many flames do I get for that statement).

This is the first time where I've had to put my upgrading plans on hold just to wait for a computer part, and it's driving me crazy! I planned everything with the assumption that the Abit KR7-Raid would already be out by now. But I'm finding myself thinking about buying another mobo

I've got a new Enermax 450watt PS, 1gig of Crucial pc2100, and the Lian-Li pc66 (gold) case, all waiting for a new mobo.

I see newegg.com updated their site hinting that the kr7 will be in stock the first week of december. Newegg has become a benchmark in the online computer sales industry. So if they say it's not in stock yet, I wouldn't trust any vendor that says they have it and/or can ship it.

HR Computers has 10 of the KR7A-Raid's in stock. I just got off the phone with Josh, the owner, and he was surprised that he got them in today. He was expecting them in yesterday but got notice early yesterday morning that it would be another week or so. Well, 20 of the mobo's arrived this morning and he's already sold 10 of them (mine included ). It seems that Amax, Abit's main distrubitor for North America, was only able to bring about 100 of them into the country and about 40 of these went system builders. Anyways, I paid $398.66 for a XP 1800+ and KR7A-Raid and UPS 3 day (202+179+17.66, respectively). It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but I want the damned thing now!! He's the only one on pricewatch.com that has these boards in stock, I've called all of them. I had ordered with smk but I get the feeling that they don't know what they have in stock, so i cancelled their order and went with this guy.

I'm posting this message from Taiwan....I have spotted the KR7A I'm really tempted at buying the board and bring it back to the States but I'm afraid I'm out of lucky if the board becomes a dud. There are so many good motherboards here...I must resist..

Went to see the board again today. Walking away from the purchase was the hardest decision. Price was $4500 NT dollars...which converts to $129 USD. I was really afraid I might be stuck with a useless board if the board didn't work when I brought I bring it back to the states. So instead...I bought some DDR 333 memory from TwinMOS for $40 a piece...lol

Yo, does the Enermas Whisper series fit it in the Lian Li case? Remember reading somewhere that Enermax and Lian Li aren't a good match.

Not an exact match but I put an Enermax EG465P-VE 431W Power supply into a Lian-Li pc-62 case last night with no problem.
I just love this case - the extra 10cm of depth make it so easy to put things together
