Abit KT133 raid- 1.3 Duron(morgan) 1.3 Thunderbird

I have become attached to my computer and don't want to build a new one yet but do want to upgrade alittle bit. I have a 200Mhz fsb 850Mhz Thunderbird.
Does anyone have a recomendation on what chip to get.
The XP's will not work in this board correct? The board only supports 200 Mhx fsb's
Is the 1.3Ghz Morgan Duron faster then the 1.3Ghz Thunderbird?
The Duron has less cache but has the "xp" core which has more instructions and such.

I looked for bechmarks between themand found very little.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

I believe the Morgan core Durons are still somewhat slower than the regular T-Bird line, but not by much. You would still see a noticable improvement if you were to move onto a 1.3 Duron since that's quite a mhz jump.

Have you ever thought about just overclocking your existing processor? You were planning on replacing it anyway.

I have overclocked it but it will only go to around 950.
The 850 is renowned for being a chip that is pretty much maxed out, for some reason or another.

I don't think that your board will support a Morgan core Duron. There are multiple versions of the KT7. I would triple-check before buying a 1.3 Duron.

Almost every KT133 board supports the Morgan Duron, even without a BIOS flash. Some boards detect it as an Athlon, but it still works.

I have a 1.1 Duron (which I believe is Morgan core) running fine on my KT7 - no boot up problems, shows up as a 1.1 Duron.
