Both are pretty good. But in all honesty I believe the Iwill KK266 is the best one.

I have a kt7a-raid... its a good board, but all the patches and crap you have to apply is annoying and confusing, there doesn't seem to be a _right_ way to do it ;/
don't know how all the other boards are working

classy: I'm also wondering why the kk266? I've been trying to find out more about this mobo but there's not that much information (reviews) out there on it.

They're about the same.

I liked the Abit because its a little cheaper, and it has 6 pci slots. I'm filling five off the bat, and can think of several things I might get for the sixth slot. Asus only has 5.

Get a raid. I'm using it raid, but even if not, the extra two IDE channels are nice to have. your hard drive, burner and CD-R reader for burning really should all be masters on their own channels. That's one more than non raid boards have right there.

AGP = Geforce2 Pro
PCI-1 = Voodoo3 2000 (for dual monitor)
PCI-2 = Studio DC10+ SVHS++ analog video in/out card for video editing
PCI-3 = sound card = SB Live X-Gamer
PCI-4 = modem card (for auto dialing, voice mail and faxing
PCI-5 = empty (use the opening for Abit's now included 2nd two USB ports)
PCI-6 = NIC (LinkSys 10/100) (for Cable net through LinkSys Router & home Lan)

I might fill the sixth slot with:

SCSI card
Firewire card (for digital video in/out)

Primer55:

Yes there is a K7T Turbo without RAID.

senior guy:

I think he belives the Iwill is better because it reached 166MHz front side bus, nothing stunning because it's using KT133A northbridge beta version. Asus, Abit, MSI and others all use non-beta chips so they're not as overclockable. Seriously though, the Iwill is just a Abit ripoff, the layout is very obviosly copied from the KT7A-RAID.

I talked with a guy at outsideloop(makers of the Afterburner GFD) and he told me he's had A LOT less compatibility issues with the AV7133, compared to the KT7a. This is what he wrote:

<< I actually prefer the A7V133 over the KT7A. The abit boards have a lot of compatibility issues with sound cards, SCSI cards, etc and they act very touchy with WinME and 2K at times. Since I started using the Asus, all of the problems I've experienced with the Abits have gone away and OS installation is a breeze. >>

Is that guy's name Bill? Many of my friends recommended him because outsideloop's service is excellent.

Well, I talked with Dave on the phone, but I've emailed back and forth with them and each time theres no name. They're very cool. When I bought their GFD last year, they helped me out a bit, very friendly. I'm gonna most likely get an mobo/cpu combo from them. I'm gonna wait till they get K7T Turbo boards and see how they like them before I order anything.

Sounds good, K7T Turbo is available in many places now, I just hope Outsideloop can get some too.

I keep hearing like end of the month/eary march I hope its a lot sooner than that. The question is, how long do ya let these guys build systems around that mobo before they conclude its a good stable mobo. I'm sure they thought the abit board was the sh!t at one time when it first came out.
