Abit NF7-S and gameport?

I've got an old MS Sidewinder FF joystick that uses the gameport and I was considering getting an NF7-S mb(rev2) until I heard that this mb doesn't ship with a gameport and that adding a soundcard to add this feature creates a conflict. Can anyone verify this and possibly provide a solution that doesn't add dramatically to the cost?

If the solution is to go with another mb, I might consider the Asus deluxe board. Gigabyte sounds too buggy. Many of the others shipping these days don't seem to be utilizing the apu which is something I want. I do not want to get a new joystick or invest a ton of money to have one as that was costly enough when it was purchased. Any suggestions?

Just get a adapter. Make it a USB?

Look for a gameport adapter on Ebay, its like $15.

Do they actually work well? I've heard that some or all of the usb adapters have some limitations in number of buttons they support and such.

I use the one that came with my Gravis Xterminator gamepad. All buttons work fine.

Thanks for the info guys! Unless someone can change my mind I think I'll be going with the Asus Deluxe board as it looks to already have a gameport and the price diff is less than what I've seen the adapter will cost. Everything else looks similar except for the amount of internal/external usb ports. Is there anyone that can argue for an abit and an adapter? Any particular advantages to the abit or even another board over the asus? I don't want to exceed $130 for a motherboard and like I said earlier I want it to utilize the apu for sound.
