Never ordered from them before, are they any good? Newegg.com has is for 3bucks cheaper, not sure if it's the 1.2 revision but I sent them an email asking about that.

Newegg does not guarantee revisions. I just received one, and it was a Rev. 1.1... I already had a Rev. 1.2 pre-ordered from Excaliber just to be on the safe side.. It should be shipping tomorrow.

Anyone want to buy a brand new Rev. 1.1???

EDIT: I have not ordered from Excaliber before, but they seem to be the only game in town for a guaranteed Rev. 1.2. After they sell out of this shipment, they claim up to a 2 week wait until the next batch.

EDIT: Just found out that my board shipped today...

I've used Newegg for a while but feel they are slipping in some areas. I got a rev.1.2 from them but it looked like it was opened/used or something with fingerprints on the board and on the software. Luckily it runs perfectly but I prefer unused boards when I pay new prices.
Excalibur looks to be doing a good job catering to the enthusiast, listing exactly what they sell and offering fixes for known problems with hardware. Paying a little extra to enthusiast selling enthusiast goods is preferable to buying from someone who just wants your $$
Newegg's line about not being able guarantee rev # is BS, it's more like they don't want to take the time to check and they don't want to sit on the old rev that nobody wants.

I'll wait and see on Excalibur for the time being however. Some of these new online companies come in with a bang, get overwhelmed and turn to crap, time will tell.

Technonut, I guess your right about newegg.com. I finally got my email returned and this is what the lady said if anyone is interested:

of everything. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to physically getting our
hands on our most current stock and tell you what revision we have at the
moment. Also, I cannot tag a particular item for a particular order. We ship
what we have, when we have it, at our discretion. We do not guarantee revision
numbers unless specified on our website.

I'm very please with eXcaliber...I even got a call from their Customer Service amongst many e-mails, not displeased with Newegg but if you want specific Rev's and CPU's, go with the eX !

I don't blame newegg for this. They deal in such huge quantity and have to ship so much out the door that it is logistically impossible to mach up a specific board with a specific order. It's just not profitable for them to do so.

That being said, that's where a lot of smaller retailers will cash in and offer the better customer service. The also tend to have the higher prices than somebody like newegg has.

newegg doesn't have the lowest price on everything, but there are occasional deals to be found there. Also, last time I ordered from them they were quite quick with the shipping. I also like the fact that they offer lots of good pictures on the website so that you usually can see what you are getting.

But I think that it goes with out saying that if you are reading this forum you know how to shop around for yourself pretty good.
