Hi everyone.....i just had to send it a dead Abit ip35-e MB. At first i was impressed by abits erma ease but i don't know how impressed i am now. The board was totally dead. The lights that come on when you plug in the PSU to the motherboard wouldn't even come on. First they said i had a broken SATA connector on the board which i was totally not unaware of and a little but suspicious. I just paid it so i could get my board back quickly. Well it finally shipped out last friday but the serial # they shipped was the same serial # that i sent in according to their web site. I was like WTF....how could the fix a motherboard like this. So i email them about it and the response i got was VERY bad english and really didn't make a lot of sense at all...here is the response:

"Hello Ncage
Your particular board happens to be one of this boards that never
stay long
enough in our inventory once release from our repair center. And from the
log of
boards returned from that scheduled delivery, there were no available same
board
entered in our data system that assigning on every RMA processed.

We appreciate bringing this to our attention and we thank you much
kindly.

Regards,
RMA Department "

Now if anyone can make much sense of that then your a good translator.

So i call them and the guy from the RMA department.....well the notes said they fixed it.

Anyone else been through a similar circumstance with abit? Did the board actually work when you recieved it back? I'm thinking maybe its going to just be easier to buy a new one then to mess with this crap. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Ncage

It sounded like they didn't have any spare boards of that model available in their RMA center, so they had to try to fix your board and send it back to you.

I got this same notice from them after I had to RMA my IP-35E. So I sent it in hoping the "repaired" one would work. The board they sent me was DOA. I didn't feel like dealing with the long wait for a chance at getting a working board (and being out my shipping cost) so I went and bought a xfx 780i and everything is working fine.

Here is my experience so far.
I applied RMA for my dead Abit KN8-SLI mobo. I got a RMA number issued and was getting ready to ship out the board. I got busy at work and forgot about the RMA. After about a week from the date I got my RMA approval email, I got couple more email from Abit indicating that they got my RMA mobo and the SATA port on the mobo is damaged, so they want to charge me $25 for repair physical damaged parts since it is not covered in warranty. At this point I thought that was odd, I don't remember braking the SATA port. I then realized I had not even send in the board yet and the board is still sitting my in room. Obviously Abit RMA department made a mistake, I emailed them about the situation, it took them 4+ days to get back to me and they told me someone had use my RMA number???? How could someone know my RMA number???? I don't know what's up with Abit's RMA department. I am still debating if I should send the board in for RMA or not.

they wouldn't, but someone else may have made a mistake in writing their no. when they sent their board in. After all they are all going to be sequential.
