Abit Softmenu Overclocking

I successfully overclocked my 1Ghz dual pentiums to 1260 Mhz. Any higher and it wouldn't boot. Main problem was that while windows would start up at 1260, when I used resource intensive applications like 3dStudioMax, I sometimes would get a blue screen. Maybe I'm not doing this right.

I set my PCI clock to 140, and my CPU FSB Plus setting to 28, bringing it to 1260 (not sure I understand that math). But SiSoft said my memory bus speed was at like 124 (normally 133). Could this be the problem? Can I set my memory bus higher? When I changed my RAM settings in the BIOS to "turbo", my machine wouldn't boot.

Any suggestions?

<P>Just because your machine boots at this speed, doesnt mean it will be stable at this speed. You couls try upping the voltage if you can do it with those CPUs. Also you are getting confused with PCI clock and FSB. PCI clocks depend on the fsb, so usually PCI speed it 1/3 of FSB (not always though).

There may be an option called host clock, This should be set the to something like system clock, not system clock+PCI clock.

Also your memory probably can't be set to terbo because that is too high for it: terbo normal settings etc are used to set timings e.g..5ns or 10ns etc, you can get higher FSB speeds by&amp;nbsp;having slower timings.

Yes, I called the FSB the wrong thing. It's not PCI clock but rather "Ext. Clock (PCI)". That is what I turned up to 140 Mhz. I also did up the CPU voltage by .1. It made my chips run at 45C instead of 35C, so I assume the CPU temps are not the problem.
