I'm at somewhat of a dilemma and I'm hoping you forum whores could help me out.
My Current System Specs:
Abit VA6 Mobo
Celeron2 600 @ 750
192 MB RAM @ 100MHz
Geforce 256
yada yada yada..
If any of you are familiar with the Celeron2 line, you know that they're not exactly the most potent chip. Hence, the title, '566 Celery,' it may be called a 600, but it sure doesn't act like it. This chip has no balls.
I have a two real options, but I'm not sure exactly what I should opt for.
1. I could get rid of the Celery, and simply go for a higher end Pentium 3, while keeping the mobo.
2. The price of AMD chips lately has been plummetting (sp). I mean $176 for a 1.33GHz!? By the time I plan to be upgrading, (a few months) price could be even lower. Unfortunatly, if I did this, I'd have to switch mobo's. My current one was built for the Pentium line of products, and wouldn't support AMD chips. What bugs me is that I haven't had this mobo for a year yet.. I got a hold of it probably last July. I'd kind of like to get some more use out of it.. but I wouldn't mind a better system for college.
Of course I wouldn't forget the vast array of toys I've yet attained.. and some more RAM wouldn't hurt. Oh well, any ideas?
