No. Instead, let's force them to bear children they don't want and are totally unpripared to care for. Let's encourage them to beat and neglect these kids and raise a bunch of psychological basket cases.
What do you guys think of my opinion?
I think you don't have a right to such an uninformed opinion until you've been a pregnant single woman. Once you've done that, you'll have a much better idea of what they face. Until you do, your best option to avoid embarassing yourself in public is to keep silent, if only to avoid proving your ignorance.

why not instead promote adoption Harvey?? really why are so many against that?...I have known more than a few women who as girls had abortions and it was the single biggest mistake of their lives (according to them), and I also know those who use it as a form of birth control....seriously people are abusing the system for their carelessness and laziness.

I don't believe a child should have to live with their parents mistake.

I don't think a child should have to die because of their parent's mistake
and I use the word "parent" very loosely here.

A parent is far more than just a person who gives of an egg or sperm.

Adoption is nice for those children who are born and need the care... if they can get it. Some children of unwanted pregnancies are not easily adoptable for a number of reasons.
  • Children of mothers who use drugs, including tobacco, alcohol, cocaine, speed and others, are very likely to be born with lifelong imparements and little chance of a normal childhood or adulthood.
  • Women impregnated by rape should not be forced to go through a full term pregnancy. The rape was bad enough. If she was in school, even if she returns, the pregnancy will disrupt her life forever, both educationally and socially. Some women may choose to have a child of rape, but NO woman should be forced to do so by law.
  • Sadly, and through no fault of their own, children of mixed ethnic and racial parents are more difficult to place.
  • Regardless of any and all good intent, one more pregnancy is one more mouth to feed in a world where there are already far too few resources to care for far too many poor, hungry, homeless, unwanted, uncared for children, and the prospects for reversing this condition are not soon in coming. The last thing we need on this planet is more unplanned and unwanted children. We have more than enough of a challenge dealing with those already here and those we know are coming, regardless of how many birth contol measures and safe abortion facilities there are.
Finally, even in a world where every unwanted child could be adopted into an ideal, loving, caring family environment, some women will choose to terminate their pregnancies for any number of reasons, whether or not you approve of their reasons.

It will NEVER be a question of whether there will be abortions. The only choice is whether we, as a society, allow it to happen in a safe, competent medical environment, or we condemn the women who seek them to the dangers of unsafe, unsupervised back alley practices.

lol I just think that if the mother (or father, if he doesn't ditch them) don't have time to take care of the kid (i.e. if they're in college and working full time too, only home a few hours of the day) than it's probably better to get an abortion. if the kid is not going to get raised right, it'd be worse for the kid....

definatly pro death.

There should be a partial birth abortion ban. When a baby is starts looking like an actual baby I think abortion becomes murder. Aborting a couple of cells is one thing, but killing an almost developed baby that can feel pain and suffering is another. A couple of weeks should ben enough for a woman to decide whether to get an abortion.

When does it start to look like a baby?

This is about the poorest argument one can make, as it's so easy to turn around. Especially when the person in question was never in danger of being aborted in the first place.

I think we should go ahead and abort the mom as well.
There are only two possible excuses for such lame statements, ignorance or stupidity. If you don't know the difference, it's definitely the latter. :frown:

In today's world every fetus is in danger of being aborted because
of the myriad of reasons to abort.

I'm just sayin...if the woman is in such a poor state that she can't find a viable option for the baby besides abortion, then maybe she's not contributing to society and we don't need her either

No. Instead, let's force them to bear children they don't want and are totally unpripared to care for.

They know that having sex can lead to pregnancy. If they are unprepared to handle the burden of a child, they should not be having sex. End of story. No Discussion.

Let's encourage them to beat and neglect these kids and raise a bunch of psychological basket cases.

That?s a pretty dumb thing to say.

So you are a pregnant single mother? If not, you are just as uninformed and ignorant as I am. Maybe you should keep silent to avoid embarrassing yourself with such ridiculous comments. You should learn to spell as well.

Gee, Stefan. I was in a hurry when I typed that, so I'm sorry I misspelled impaired, and dropped a keystroke in control.

I've never been a a pregnant single mother, but neither am I trying to impose my moral values on someone else so my comment is hardly ridiculous.

Hardly the end of the story. Your statement isn't even worthy of being the beginning of the story. Knowing that sex causes pregnancy doesn't stop it or do anything to deal with the results.

It is? Statisitcally, children who are the results of unwanted pregnacies are far more likely to have emotional problems, as are their parents, and kids born to crack, speed and junkie mothers are well known to be starting from an even worse position, both emotionally and from chemical damage when they were still fetusus. Not allowing safe, early termination of unwanted pregnancies is, in fact, promoting the births of more such damaged children.

Maybe you should stop embarrassing yourself with ad hominem attacks on me when you have nothing to say and less to support it. Do you ever open your mouth to do anything but change feet? :Q
