Any who is on Dave's mailing list knows what happened to him recently.

For those that don't, here you go (Abridged version after this:

Dave
It's weird to be sitting 1000 miles away from where you were a scant 9 hours ago. it's weird to get phone calls late at night out of the blue stating that something terrible has happened to a loved one. it's weird to think about the fact that someone you've desparately loved with your whole heart has gone home for good. It's weird to think about the fact that despite our technology and our awareness of medical procedures (thanks be to God), we cannot fix everything that is broken.

My father slipped from this mortal coil early this morning. I'm sitting in Minneapolis, arranging transport with a funeral home, typing this letter to my unnamed and unknown masses of awesome customers and friends, and waiting....waiting for the next plane to bring me to Pittsburgh...waiting to see my mom's face when the full force of bereavement hits her.....just waiting.

I'm not crying yet...but i'm ripped up inside over a life that could have been. I'm torn by the fact that my father just turned 59 2 weeks ago and that he'll not get to see my daughter again for her first birthday in 2 weeks. I'm confused as to why one life has to end in order for a new life to beginning. In truth, my daughter should've died last year but thanks to God's grace (and a skillful team of doctors) she survived. I've got the witness of a miracle sitting on my shoulder every day now and now this....

we all need to treasure life...to come to the solemn realization that life, which we live with abandon, is not ours. that all it takes is a moment; a spark of the wire, a clutch of the chest and it's over. We cannot afford to take for granted what lies beneath our facade of wizened IT-ness. Rather, we need to embrace the gift of today and tomorrow and the next and constantly place ourselves against the reality of our finitude.

Go into the world, my friends, seize the precious moments of life before they elude you, and NEVER, EVER let go.

Basically, his father died, and he's going through a really rough time.


I know a lot of people on here don't believe in God (No, not just the Christian God, the Jewish God [Yaweh], the Muslim God [Allah], any monotheistic religion in general), but anyone who does, please pray. If you don't pray, then thoughts out to him and his family. Good feelings. Who knows.

I just figured a LOT of people on here know him, have bought from him, but aren't on his mailing list. And thought you might like to know.

Dave is Dave Graham who operates Flickerdown.com. Great place to get cpu's with a known stepping. He's always up front with you. Though I've never actually ordered from him, he's been very informative and helpful in my communications with him.

thanks, everyone, for your kind sentiments. Last week was tough but amazingly, when you've "settled your score" it's peaceful to go through.

we're back into the re-adjustment stage and trying to figure out things with my mom and brother..
