I do but then again when I stand up I can position my feet to make a 270 degree angle forward so I guess I am pretty flexible. I usually cross ankle to opposite knee though. And it's BS that it crushes your nads, it doesn't. I am only 5' 7" btw but I am pretty thin.

Just because it doesn't crush yours doesn't mean that it doesn't crush anyone else's. The crushing effect has nothing to do with the size though, and probably more to do with a person's choice in underwear, a person's build, and a person's flexibility. I can only speak for myself, but I've tried it as a result of this thread and it is horribly uncomfortable unless I, uh, "manually reposition" myself before crossing my legs. Even then my kneecap digs into the back of my other leg, besides, I'm not about to "manually reposition" myself just to cross my legs.

I don't get how you guys think the ankle-to-knee thing is comfortable. 98% of the time that's extremely uncomfortable to me (but then, I guess I have pretty bony ankles.) The girly way of crossing legs is most comfy for me, but I heard the same thing as someone else about that causing varicose veins, so I'm trying to break the habit. It had nothing to do with modesty for me, just the most natural and comfortable way.

And Moonie, I drive sitting on my left foot sometimes, or with my knee tucked up under my elbow, by the window. Gotta keep the right foot free for emergency braking.

I'm with Zenmervolt...if I "manually reposition" myself it's okay on that end....but my kneecap still digs into my upper calf or the back of my other knee....

It's just all around not comfortable...knees, thighs and "men"...

I've tried a couple times...just can't do it.

I guess if it's comfortable for you then no problems. But it just doesn't work for me.
And I don't care in the slightest if it looks gay. I've never cared much if I look "gay" or whatever else...

sometimes the ankle on the knee gets uncomfortable too...especially when your foot falls asleep. Or half your ass falls asleep because your wallet is in your back pocket. That also sucks.

anyone that says that they feel uncomfortable crossing their legs is either incredibly fat or lying. it works because your berries aren't strapped down permantly side to side, they shift. how do you think you can walk without your berries getting in the way eh?

I can't cross my legs like girls do, and when I sit down, I can't sit cross legged...at school for lunch (sit on flat concrete) I just stand. Oh well, at least it doesn't hurt!

 

As a woman, I cross my legs almost all of the time. However, I think it's gay for a guy to cross his legs that way. It looks so gay. LOL! Funny that even some macho men sometimes cross their legs like that. So, maybe it's just an influence of societal stereotypes.

P.S.: I think it's decency to cross your legs as a woman, especially when wearing dresses. It secures your *ahem* from being exposed, unless you're good at closing your legs. LOL! Call it chastity if you will (as Gopunk did), but it remains part of my etiquette.
