I'm building my rig for gaming, and programming use.
I would also be exploring overclocking my rig to get maximum potential.
Is this a good combination or parts? Is it rational/reasonable with respect to price/performance..

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H - http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Mothe...DMI_DVI_ATX%5D

and

http://www.lmc.com.au/products/CPU/I...0637I73770K%5D

Do you think I can get this to 4.5Ghz easily?

I'll also buy an aftermarket CPU Cooler, read some reviews I think it's good, but reading is not the same with experience.

CoolerMaster V6GT Cooler - http://www.lmc.com.au/products/CPU/C...mark_Computers

GPU: 2 x Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX690 - http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Graph...690D5-4GD-B%5D

RAM: G.Skill TDX 32GB (4 x 8GB) - http://www.lmc.com.au/products/RAM/G...0C10Q-32GTX%5D

PSU: CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold M1000W - http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Power...A00-80GA-D3%5D

Will all these parts work together? no bottlenecks?

Any input is appreciated,
Thanks

I already have 1 SanDisk Extreme SSD. One GTX 690 is a present from a relative (already confirmed), the other one I'm still in the process of persuasion. The PSU is also confirmed.. The rest I'm buying. The things I have already are 1 SSD for OS, 1 HDD for storage, and planning to buy another HDD or SSD before new year.

what is the resolution of your monitor(s)? dual 690's are way overkill if playing on a single monitor.

Definitely not. You're buying Nvidia's top end GPU configuration, which works out to $2000 in GPUs alone.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: This is a pointless exercise if the OP is running anything less than a 30" or tri-1080p.

I am still trying to figure out the whole dual 690 thing. You must have some fantastic friends to spend 1000 on a video card as a present, hell my friends barely spend 10 bucks on me. If your doing a 3 monitor setup the 690s would be nice but not needed.

relatives, aunties, and the likes.. they asked me what I want so, might as well go for the best at that time, I rushed on searching for the components.

So, I finally bought some of the components of my new rig, went along with just a single GTX 690 4Gb version. And I have an Asus VK278Q 27" monitor, display at 1920x1080p..

Well, sorry for the late reply..
I am very happy with my new rig, no complaints with performance YET.. Lol..
Goodbye old AMD build, or I'll just sell it/lend it to my brother lol..
Thanks for all your help! I went with the 690 since I'll probably be able to ride this gpu and this rig until GTX 800 series arrive..

Congrats

Performance for the individual is a subjective matter with too many variables to say "one" card is enough e.g. your 690 GTX. That thing is a BEAST! Good Luck
