I liked all the casting except for the green alien girl, she seemed 100% human except for the colour, and I hated that Leneord Nemoy was in the movie.

I don't see why so many people have a problem with the cast. Quinto was perfect for Spock, Cho was a perfect Sulu, Saldana was a perfect Uhura...

I thought the guy that played McCoy would have been a better Scotty Pegg was more annoying than anything.

Yeah, I didn't like the story much either. It was a generic action flick with Star Trek worked into it. They could have used any characters and it would have been the same movie.

It's been a while since I saw it, and maybe I need to watch it again, but the part that sticks out to me is when he does the token "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a ____" I thought that really made the role cheezy. Maybe the rest didn't suck, but you have to nail the key moments to define a character.

I hate how overly cocky he played that. I also hate how "informal" everyone is on the bridge, and why is a medical officer in charge of targeting?

That whole scene including the apple, was awkward not too mention I think it's stupid test. If they really want to see how a officer acts in a no win situation they should sneak it in on various practice missions. Everyone would know how to handle this situation if it is so famous in their universe, as if they wouldn't figure out that fighting means losing the test.

I didn't like the industrial look of the inside of the ship either, even some of the elevators looked like they were in a coal mine or something. And the bar fight scene, it exactly like I would have expected in a WWII era movie, there was no "Future" there at all.

The one actor I was surprised that I liked was urhura. I've never cared for that character before but she was great in this movie. I wish when kirk ran at her when he had those giant puffed up hands that she would have screamed, "Don't touch me again" and covered up her breasts with her hands.
