The "real" game???

Casinos are horrible. You have to deal with degenerate gamblers and slow placed games. a .25-50 cent player online can kill a live 1-2 game and it's not even close. Live games are so soft it's not even funny (obviously some of the bigger Bellagio games aren't, but in general live games are much softer).

Agree, unless it's a tourney, I'd rather play online. You can play 6 tables at once, can quickly switch tables if you don't like the one you're at and no need to dress-up/drive, etc.

He's right. I played a lot online as well as live and live games are much much softer. I usually played 2-4 or 3-6 NL online depending on where the good tables were. 3-6 online is where you start running into players who are pretty good. 3-6 at a casino, on the other hand is pillow soft and the rough equivalent of 1-2 or maybe .50-1 online.

I'm still looking for the supporting details that my brother mentioned, but apparently a user who was mysteriously beaten in a recent tournament requested a hand history. Someone at the company sent him an excel sheet with every hand of every person in the whole tournament, along with their bids, usernames, and IP addresses, as well as lists and IPs of people just observing. That is how some poker sleuths tracked down the owner to Costa Rica.
When my brother found out a few days ago he decided to withdraw his money, but for some unknown reason his withdrawal was cancelled.

I just thought I'd spread the word, so you guys don't loose your money if it turns out to be true.

Your story is WAY off the truth.

The guy worked for the company and hacked it because one of the execs had the balls to tell him it couldn't be done.

He jacked between 500,000 - 700,000USD never withdrew any of the money from any of the accounts.

He could see everyone's hold cards.

Freerolls? You got to be kidding me. Yeah, that's good practice. Playing with people that have nothing to lose and can be play as loose and stupidly as they want b/c there's no risk.

I have played in many real money tournamentds including ten or more at the WSOP over the last 4 years and people play just as badly as they do in play money tourneys. Not everybody who plays poker for real money knows how to play poker. That is why some are winners and others are losers. End of story

Pretty ignorant statements...

I can't imagine how profitable online poker will become if the government ever decides to regulate it. All the idiots who think like you and think it's rigged will come out in masses.

Why is my statement ignorant?

Uh..no. I don't care who regulates it i still won't play for real money online.

Because you do not know what you are talking about. Move along troll.

That comment still does not change the fact that you have no idea what you are talking about.

The interesting thing about this is people are still supporting online poker by playing or lobbying for it. My friend plays and while he's won a "bunch" he admits he can't withdraw his movie. They give him all sorts of excuses like they need 3 forms if ID or whatnot. His solution? Just live with it. It doesn't bother him one bit. He acts as if he went to the bank and the ATM was out of order. "Oh well, I'll just get it another day." Except the difference is, he'll never get his money out.

I was just looking for this thread. LOL @ people who play poker online. That's just as bad as people who buy 401k. Oh wait.

I have no trouble getting checks from Full Tilt and Poker Stars. I have already stated in this thread that "There isn't any form of poker that is %100 safe from cheating. "

This new scandal will not stop online poker, hopefully someday with regulation, these issues will not happen as much.

Where does he play? Buck, myself and others are able to get their money withdrawn.

I got my money from Poker Stars via check. Too add to the online 100% safe comment, there isn't a 100% safe from cheating in live poker either. I read something crazy like it's estimated that 30% of the LA poker room players are "pros" and collusion is rampant in the higher limit games.
