AC Silencer on x800

I've nearly finished doing my online shopping and I was wondering if the AC VGA Silencer here would work with the ATI Radeon x800 PRO. The max i've seen it work up to was the 9800 pro...so would it work for the x800 pro? Anyone tried it?

I think there will be a new model. HIS sells a 9800P with an AC Silenceras stock cooling and you can also buy that same cooler from AC. I see HIS will be selling a X800P with a cooler that looks like a new version of the AC Silencer. I'd imagine it will also be available from AC.

Well, all the reviews I have seen said that the X800 looks pretty much identical to the 9800 XT so I would guess that the VGA Silencer XT that was supposed to have been on sale in March would fit. But I don't know when the XT version will actuallly be available. You could also just buy the HIS "IceQ" Version which is about $20 more than the regular version and you will still have your warranty.

Nah, I was looking for something like the AC Silencer that you can just sort of, clip on. Not a whole vid card with cooler on. Anyway, its not a must to have it, the x800 would work fine without it too right? I was just gettin a bit scared since I just read a post about someone whos card is gettin really hot.

I don't see why if you are interested in the VGA Silencer for an X800 you don't want to buy an X800 with the Silencer already on it and warranty.

Um, VGA silencers aren't even needed this time around. We get QUIET fans, AND cooler temperatures than the last R350/360 batch of GPUS.

The heat from a conventional GPU cooler is sent back into the case. The Silencer DHES directly exhausts the heat out of the case. Silencer is still a big improvement over the reference X800 design.

It actually is a good idea to buy an x800 with a silencer on it but...I cant seem to find it anywhere. Do any of you know a place where it's being sold at this modem in time? Newegg only today got the normal x800 version and its still on order (ETA: 15th May i think).
