AC'07 to HD Audio conversion..

Aside from all the above ..I have found that there are 10 pins on a small pcb at the front of the case, from which the leads go to 10 pins o the mainboard.

There are 7 wires making up the connector for audio on this case due to the fact it is set for AC'97 ...but it is still 10 usable pin connections on each end - again, at the motherboard and on the small pcb at he front of case.

What is to keep me from acquiring the HD connector from a later case (employs 9 leads/wires in the proper positions on the end connectors) and using it? Is the small pcb at the front where the wires connect ..is it hard wired for AC'97 and would have to be changed also?

If there is a way to post a couple of small jpegs, I have them ready. For some reason the 'Pictures and Albums link' mentioned in FAQ's here is not showing.

Still on the quest ..but no answer yet.

Surely someone knows if the small pcb in the picture with 10 pins will work with the HD signal from my new Biostatr motherboard (A880G+w/ the same pin configeration) .

I can get the HD cable, but no one so far has been ale to tell me if this will work or not.

It will connect ..that's easy to see ..BUT will it work ..OR does that small pcb work for AC'97 only?

No ..it is a purchase I will have to make from a case supplier. I was trying to see if it was even possible to start with. I did not think it would be that difficult a question to answer.

I have a request into Antec for a price for the actual cable, but they have not got back with me yet.

The cable I have now has 7 separate leads ..the HD cable from Antec has a 10 pin connector on each end ..using 9 leads.

I did contact my case mfg., Enermax, as some of their newer cases use HD & AC'97. Initially they were not sure if it would work ..but have said they will do more research ...still waiting on that second reply. I got the impression either that ..I was not as understood as I would have liked due to language barriers ..or they just did not want to fool with me.

This is not making a whole lot of sense to me. Also, I thought you can reconfigure the 3 output jacks in the back? Can't you try to configure 2 of them as front left and right?

There is a front audio header, you just need to figure out the pin out.
