I ordered 2 copies from CampusTech last week. It showed up on their site as "approved" but I never got an email. I finally called them today. The order had been frozen with no warning because I ordered 2 copies. They claim Microsoft only allows 1 per year. They didn't email me or even show anything on my order on their site.
Really annoying. If they have rules like this they should not have allowed the order to be submitted.
If I hadn't called them I never would have found out what was wrong.
They changed the order to 1 copy and it should have shipped by now.
These guys truly are incredibly unorganized. They appear to have only charged my credit card once, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on that over the next several days. No way in hell am I sending this back to them. The second copy is unsolicited, so it is now rightfully mine. Now to figure out what to do with it...

I FINALLY got a hold of a live person today. Apparently, because of high demand my order was put on backorder, even though I placed my order the day Vista was available on their website. People who ordered after me, got theirs, but I was the one to be put on backorder. They also never contacted me to tell me this, and even went as far as telling me that my order had already shipped on the 30th. Which it clearly did not. They supposedly contacted another warehouse and will be shipping my order on Saturday. Which means I have to wait till Wednesday or Thursday until I get my order which should have been here early last week. This is the LAST time I ever buy ANY software from Campus tech. From now on, the Academic Superstore and my school's bookstore get all my business.

You should feel guilty, this is in no way different than if someone gave you too much change back and not giving it back. Instead of correcting them and giving the money/product that's not yours back, you take advantage of the situation to benefit yourself at the cost of others.
Granted it is a bit different because they shipped it to you and to return it, they would still have to pay for shipping, but it's the principle of the thing.
Chances are though if you contacted them about this, they'd probably tell you to keep it. (same thing happened to me when the ipod nano originally came out, apple CSR told me to keep it)

Another disgruntled CampusTech customer here.
I bought Office 2007 and Vista Home Premium eight days ago. One attempt at "live" support resulting in 20 minutes wait followed by the information that they couldn't check on my order because the guy was out. I tried again today. Half an hour wait, was told I'd get an email. Got the email hours later, was informed that office 2007 is out of stock, though expected soon. Vista also back ordered, supposedly shipping tomorrow. Of course no mention of anything being out of stock when they took my money (or after, until I pressed them).
How hard is it to post the correct availability info on the product order page or the order status page? This is dishonesty, not incompetence.
