I ordered 2 copies from CampusTech last week. It showed up on their site as "approved" but I never got an email. I finally called them today. The order had been frozen with no warning because I ordered 2 copies. They claim Microsoft only allows 1 per year. They didn't email me or even show anything on my order on their site.

Really annoying. If they have rules like this they should not have allowed the order to be submitted.

If I hadn't called them I never would have found out what was wrong.
They changed the order to 1 copy and it should have shipped by now.

Should have used academic superstore -- they have really good customer service. I have been a long time customer and they have always had good communication.

By the way they have the same price as campus tech.

These guys truly are incredibly unorganized. They appear to have only charged my credit card once, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on that over the next several days. No way in hell am I sending this back to them. The second copy is unsolicited, so it is now rightfully mine. Now to figure out what to do with it...

You should feel guilty, this is in no way different than if someone gave you too much change back and not giving it back. Instead of correcting them and giving the money/product that's not yours back, you take advantage of the situation to benefit yourself at the cost of others.

Granted it is a bit different because they shipped it to you and to return it, they would still have to pay for shipping, but it's the principle of the thing.

Chances are though if you contacted them about this, they'd probably tell you to keep it. (same thing happened to me when the ipod nano originally came out, apple CSR told me to keep it)

I FINALLY got a hold of a live person today. Apparently, because of high demand my order was put on backorder, even though I placed my order the day Vista was available on their website. People who ordered after me, got theirs, but I was the one to be put on backorder. They also never contacted me to tell me this, and even went as far as telling me that my order had already shipped on the 30th. Which it clearly did not. They supposedly contacted another warehouse and will be shipping my order on Saturday. Which means I have to wait till Wednesday or Thursday until I get my order which should have been here early last week. This is the LAST time I ever buy ANY software from Campus tech. From now on, the Academic Superstore and my school's bookstore get all my business.

Yea, I bought it on launch day. I even paid for 2 day shipping. They did not notify me that it had been shipped or not. I called many times, all their phone numbers went to an answering machine. Later, I found out that they hadn't even checked my Academic ID yet. Finally got it 8 days later (2 day shipping) with the box cracked in the middle. Never shopping at CampusTech again!!! Not happy at all!

My wife is a librarian at a local private college. The only Microsoft product they have to sell is office.

Campustech's eligibility says library ok.....academic superstore says no. Guess I will order from campustech and see what happens.

To be honest I'd probably return it if they contacted me, but not because I'd feel guilty. I just wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of disputing a charge on my credit card. So far only one charge though...

bought home, installed premier, man is performance lousy in benchies (i know that this was already known, but i didn't expect that it would be quite this bad)...

vista makes my 2.8ghz opty/2gb ram/x1800xt perform like my 2.2ghz a64/2gb/x850xt(agp) system running xp...

It's mostly due to drivers. In the coming months, drivers will improve, and performance will equal that or surpass that of XP. Still no word on my package though. :-(

Recieved my copy of Home Premium from Academic Superstore today for 70 bones.

I did a clean install in about 30 minutes and I'm good to go. Works like a dream.

i'm totally unimpressed... if i had bought it locally i would return it...

What was the rest of your system like? Just for sh*ts and giggles I installed a trail version of Home Premium on a 1.4Ghz, 1GB, and integrated graphics pc, and Vista ran just as well as XP did. Granted, Aero had to be turned off because of the lack of graphics processing power, but I didn't notice any performance hit over xp.

opty @2.8, 2gb ram, x1800xt, 7200.10 320 drive... the vista ati drivers suck... and the nforce 4 stuff doesn't seem too great, either...

i just decided that it wasn't worth the grief until they sort the stuff out a bit... i just was trying to get a feel for how it runs, and am pretty disappointed...

i'm no genius, but i'm relatively competent around a pc... i think that they got a little carried away with the 'here, let us do that for you' stuff... if i'm in the admin group i want to be allowed to do what it want...

Another disgruntled CampusTech customer here.

I bought Office 2007 and Vista Home Premium eight days ago. One attempt at "live" support resulting in 20 minutes wait followed by the information that they couldn't check on my order because the guy was out. I tried again today. Half an hour wait, was told I'd get an email. Got the email hours later, was informed that office 2007 is out of stock, though expected soon. Vista also back ordered, supposedly shipping tomorrow. Of course no mention of anything being out of stock when they took my money (or after, until I pressed them).

How hard is it to post the correct availability info on the product order page or the order status page? This is dishonesty, not incompetence.

They've been giving me the run around for two weeks! I talked with Bob Smith over the phone and he told me that my order had shipped and was up for delivery on the 19th. If it's not here on the 19th, I'm canceling my order and getting this elsewhere.

If you still have problems with them, request tracking information at cs@campustech.com and CC that to Bob.Smith@campustech.com. That's the only way I was able to get anything done.

Academicsuperstore.com is the way to go it looks like. I ordered Vista last week and once my eligibility was verified it shipped out that day and I received it the next day since I am in Texas. Someone else I know ordered it this week and had a similar experience.
Only bad thing is I had to pay sales tax since it is in the same state.

Well..... Mine just came in today. A FULL MONTH after I ordered it. And to top it off? It was OPENED! The original seal was broken and there was a crappy sticky seal over it. I was able to activate and register ok, but still. It takes a month to ship a product and they give me open software? WTF?! I will never, i repeat NEVER, buy from Campustech again...
