Happen to me too 2 weeks ago on my 2008 dodge avenger, the Electronic throttle control light comes on anytime I accelerate and reduce the speed, I went online on different forums and I have learned more on the throttle sensors, so I went to the dealer shop and suggested to the mechanic to clean up the throttle body and replace the accelerator throttle position sensor (ATPS) and my car is fine now (cost me $145.00).
The throttle body nor the throttle sensor codes don't show up on the computer when they are bad, so don't waist your time or spend more money on other parts.

This thread is over two years old. Generally speaking, posting in such an old thread is frowned upon, especially when it has been 21 months since the most recent reply in the thread. Replying to a "dead" thread (also called "necro-posting") simply clutters up the main page of the forums and since the threads are so old, the original poster ("OP") is generally not checking the thread for solutions anymore. In this case, it's highly unlikely that, more than two years after initially having the problem, the OP is still dealing with the same issue.
If you are experiencing the same issue and want to know how the OP solved it, or if you really want to give the OP a new suggestion for the issue, the preferred course of action is to send the OP a personal message ("PM") with a link to the thread for reference instead of replying within the thread itself.
