Acces Denied?

ok well ive had this problem for a bit now but i have never worried to much about it but now i gotta fix it.....well first the main thing is for some reason i cant cut/copy/paste stuff i click cut and go to paste on another computer on the netowork or on the local disk and i get a Access Denied error...yet i am Admin and have all privleages....so is there something im missing? im sure its just minor setting........also the other thing is just odd files and folders around my whole computer the text will be Blue....why is this? its not everything or specific things just random songs files folders and more have blue text...so what is it? and how do i get rid of it?

EFS encryption comes to mind as a likely reason.

well i looked at what EFS is and checked to see if it was on and it wasnt...so i turned it on to see what happens and it actaully turned the folders font green...which i am gussing means encrypted....but i still dont know what blue means and i still cant cut/copy/paste...

HMM any other ideas?

EDIT::: well after fiddling around i have since found out the Blue font means the Folder is Compressed and Green means it is Excrypted....so i got rid of all the blue and green even tho i dont know how it got their....and i can now cut/copy/paste on my local drive but i still cant over the network as i still get the access denied error....so anyone got any ideas for this problem?

You need to authenticate to the other machine over the network. The easiest way to do this is to make sure the username and password you use on both machine is identical.

Otherwise map a drive to the remote machine using an account on that machine: 'net use * \\remotemachine\share /u:remotemachine\username'

wow that was way over my head.....as for the username and pass how come i have never had to do this before? also im gunna have to go with the other way bcuase i cant change the username and pass on the other computer since it isnt mine.

so can you explain further on this other way please?

The other machine might have had the guest account enabled. Maybe they disabled it now. Maybe you should ask the owner of the machine.

nope account is enabled and i tried as both the admin and the guest and srtill got the same problem...


hmm anyone know why?
