I live in a ranch style house, which basicly means its long and narrow.
At one end of the house is my computer room and wireless router. The other end of the house is my den where I want to use my laptop.
The wireless signal will only travel about halfway, mainly due to having to pass through many walls.
I've considered running a cable to the den and attach a wireless access point. I'm thinking this would give me complete wireless coverage to my entire house.
My question is can I use a second wireless router and disable its DHCP. The reason for this is economic.
Stand alone access points are twice the price of a wireless router!!!
My thoughts are to upgrade to a new wireless router with good VPN support and use my existing wireless router as an access point.
