I don't know... pretty much when Steam started... been playing Counter Strike since 1999 and Day of Defeat... never had to re-purchase those games when Steam came online.

I think I used steam once a few years back and deleted it.

I just never use it myself more or less I guess.

Nov 16, 2003, not long after Counterstrike 1.6 came out of beta.

Steam's first release was January that year.

That is impressive. I pretty much joined steam as it appeared as it was the only way to get CS patches and HL registered with it at some point.

I have no idea why (never played HL2 or any Valve games). I didn't start buying stuff from Steam until years later.

October 14th 2003 for me also.

On a side note I am a sad panda now as it has my total hours playing cs 1.6, 1,457 hours, and I played a ton of it on a zombie mod server for a long time.
