Accuracy of various temperature sensors

Ok, so here's my current temperature readouts:

Case Ambient: 30C
CPU Core: 29C
Motherboard: 32C

System:
Athlon64 3200+ (Winchester) -- stock cooling
Asus A8V-E Deluxe

First off, it would appear that my CPU core temp is actually lower than ambient, which is clearly not true, not on air cooling. I think the motherboard temperature refers to the Northbridge core temp, but I'm not sure. So which of these readouts can I trust?

What hardware monitor software are you using. Download the latest version from Asus for the best results. If you are using the latest version, are the values the same when reading from within the BIOS setup program? If so, then a BIOS update may be in order.

I forgot to mention that the case ambient temperature is a seperate sensor that came with teh case, it doesn't come with the motherboard. The other two readouts are reported by the mobo.
