Ok.
So I'm trying to find a good temp reader that will accurately display my temps for OC purposes and, I just installed a new heatsink (7700cu).

BIOS states it at 60oC
Nvidia Monitor states it at 50oC
and Core Temp states it as 42oC/42oC

All readings are idle

Should I rely on core temp for accurate readings? I want to stay below 60 under full loads and want to push my OCing further.

Usually, the BIOS temp is most accurate out of software readings. Since you didn't tell us what kind of a processor you have, I don't know if 60c is out of the ballpark or not. Still, 60 c seems way high.

Core temp is most accurate, BIOS shows CPU surface temperature which looks very high in your case

i'd say go with the core temp, or speedfan nowadays, its pretty accurate for me on mine, its 1-2c below what tat says idle, and 1-2c high on load. so its very close for those two. i have yet to use core temp so im not sure on that one.

Core temp gives me all kinds of readings. I'm never sure if I should believe it. But on the positive side, it gives temps for both cores, which is something that the others don't.

for an AMD, get RMClock. It plays nicer with the AMD processor on NF4 boards.

For everything else Coretemp.

but yeah i know what you mean about coretemp.

RMClock = Speedfan = Everest thats why im saying RMClock.
