But who is really at fault? IMO I think it's the bartenders for letting people leave or into the bar with out keeping their keys. If we had better bartenders who looked out for their customers, I don't think this would be so much of an issue. (Drunk driving as a whole) But in this case it's the kid's stupid friends who didn't look out for him.. When you see someone drunk, you bitch at them NOT TO DRIVE HOME :| I was so wasted man I had no idea...

Dear David,

Many thanks for sending this to me.

We very much want to write about Richard, his life, his character and his personality.

How well did you know Richard? Would you be willing to do a phone interview sometime today, or could you direct me to someone who might be able to do so?

Thanks for sending along the photo, as well. We will publish Richard?s photo ASAP.

Many condolences,
Adam

It would be fitting to show his picture online and in your paper instead of the drunk student driver that took his life.

Thank you

Deterrence = Penalty * Controls

The police should also control an appropriate amount of drivers. However that probably wouldn't have helped in this case because the drunk driver has been already fined.

He was a familiar name in these forums and I liked the guy a lot.
My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

He was 20, he had no business drinking, but you have a point.

I'd just like to say, please don't thread crap and please don't ruin it by debating, or arguing over ones personal opinion. Lets just keep this thread clean and positive.

Regardless, this is not the time or the place for such a debate. Start a new thread.

That's sad.
He was a good poster. There are so many crappy members on this forum, but a good one has to go.

This is so sad.

So young and a life ahead of him that will never be realized.

Ace and I never met, though we did debate a few times in OT on various topics. I always had respect for the guy. His absence will be a huge hole in the AT community.

His family are in my thoughts.

This is EGGO with Rachael. She took this pretty rough, especially since she wanted to meet him at the meet he was organizing. He's an awesome guy from what I can read. Intelligent and kind. This one made me feel a pain in my chest. I hope whoever is even closer to him will be ok.

It's weird, tomorrow and the day after will be the one-year anniversary of my two best friends' death. What that drunk driver did was inexcusable, especially after seeing his BAC. It's probably because of that irresponsibility and how great acemcmac was (I can't believe I'm typing that in the past tense) that I think Torsell should fry.
