they should pass legislation that car companies must build Breathalyzers into all new vehicles. They have already done this for DWI offenders. But it should really be in all cars. If you blow over the limit the car wont start. Consecutive failures and the car is disabled completely for a number of hours.

Wow. What a downer after the weekend, as many have stated this feels a bit odd, as we only knew Richard in a virtual way. I think we all recognize that AT is a community, and the reason it is so strong is because of people like Richard. I'm one of many posters who didn't know the guy, but would click on the many threads I saw him writing in because he was mature and reasoned. He projected his personality out onto the forums, which only a handful ever do well.

This was tragic no matter how you slice it. I don't have much but I'd be interested in contributing something in his memory, if only to show the people close to him some of the impact he had through the simply hobby of our messageboard.

I did a quick google search on the driver's name. Comes up with this beacon of virtue.

Atherton street is a really dangerous street to be crossing in broad daylight, let alone at 2:30am when all the drunk drivers are out.

Every year there are at least 3 or 4 people killed trying to cross during the day... usually those happen when people try to cross where there arent crosswalks or lights though.

Looks like this idiot probably drove through a red light since that intersection is one of the safer places to cross Atherton St.

...i sincerely hope this ruins his life.
