I felt a great sense of relief when I got the news; I think justice has been served as much as it now can be for Rick. I'm almost certain I've thought of him every day since his death and I really hope that, wherever he is now, he is at peace. I don't remember if I ever posted it, but a lot comments of sympathy from the original thread were printed out for the funeral, so your support was felt by many others.
Be safe out there.

Torsell guilty on all counts
By Collegian Staff Writers
The jury in the trial of Anthony Torsell, who was charged with driving drunk and striking two men downtown in October 2006, found him guilty of all charges, returning its final verdict at just after 5 p.m.
Torsell was convicted of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence, aggravated assault while driving under the influence and three counts of driving under the influence.
Torsell, now 21, a Bellefonte native and former Penn State student, was charged with critically injuring Penn State student Aaron Stidd and killing Richard Smith, a visitor to State College.
The verdict ended six and a half hours of jury deliberation, which began at 10:30 this morning following closing arguments from both attorneys.

Anyone know how his friend is doing? Did he pull through? Was he able to witness this?

Six hours to convict? Either there were some idiots on the jury or some folks held out for the catered lunch and dinner.
