Acer 22" widescreen for $329 at Microcenter

Hey avalon, I am looking at getting this moniter too. I have a 2005fpw right now but I would like to move that to the living room computer. my big ole 21inch ibm crt needs to go.

i dont think the 6 bit thing is a big deal. plus i would love the 2 extra inches. microcenter seems to be the cheapest price. its like 328 on newegg. its 317 shipped for me from microcenter.

For the price, I Love this monitor. I like the resolution too, it's easy on the eyes. I don't do photoshop and I don't have that picky of an eye.
I'd jump on it if your in the market.

i just picked up this bad boy from a local microcenter...it looks great and no dead pixels!

viewing angle is pretty good...not the best, but def good enough

only bad part is the no height adjustment i give this monitor a good 8.5 of 10 because of its great value and size

We have 4 big (I mean big old) 19" to 22" CRT monitors around the house on various systems, and I would REALLY like to convert some of those space and power users to LCD, but nothing has gotten me to pull the trigger yet. The old CRTs have refused to croak, and the deals on LCD just keep getting better and better. At the rate the deals are coming I don't think I can hold out much longer.

I would not judge picture quality by what you see in a store, too many variables related to hookup and setup.

Just copped one from the Microcenter in Westbury, NY. They still had plenty, but they were all in the back so you have to ask for them. They had a display, but it wasn't very noticeable(blended in with a bunch of other stuff, I walked right past it), and it still had the $329.99 price tag on it. The employees are probably scheming on them.

In case anyone is trying to get the settings right on this LCD, I got these from a post on another site, and they work great for me:

Contrast 70
Brightnes 46
User Colour settings R/G/B all at 45

Still tweaking the video settings on my 7800GT for watching divx and DVDs, but games look amazing!

Excellent picture. Can't notice any ghosting at all after an hour of CS: Source, Quake 4, and Prey. My x1800xt 512mb ran all of these at the native rez without a hickup 90% of the time (Quake 4 is a bitch every now and then).

The price was listed at $329 when I picked mine up (Denver Microcenter), but the sales guy said it was $299, and it came out to $299 at the register.

After about a week of use, I am really liking this monitor! I can find little things to nit-pick about, but on the whole its a great LCD, well worth the money.

Yeah, it's not perfect, I'm still trying to get video to look good on it, but games look great. Exceptional deal for $300.

the left and right top have a slight black edge to it where the screen doesn't fully stretch. Not enough to bother me, but i noticed it after a day or so.

I think its just how its made.. shrug... Its a very very slight black space and is equal on both sides

went to microcenter again here on elston in chicago.
Theyre all sold out but you can check out the display models they have.Theyre not bad looking at all but the samsung 22 in widey for 399 looks a hell of alot better.
I sold both my 19 in wideys for 325 to a co worker so i could get two of these but the sold out wrench hit my grand plan.
Either way i left with a couple sceptre 20 in wideys, 229+ tax was a great deal for me

1680x1050, 5ms, hdtv ready and they look great next to my dell 24 in screen

I'm not so hot on Acer monitors. All 4 19" LCD's we bought in Jan 2005 at the office have developed problems. One has a green line that runs down the screen, one the backlight no longer works, and the other two just plain died.

i only get 60 hz at max resolution also.. hurts the eyes a bit.

I'm used to 75 hz @1280x1024 on my 19 inch lcd

LCDs dont refresh like CRTs do.

This one comes with a 3-year warranty. I dunno about yours, but Acer has a good warranty program. Register your products using your serial number on their support site for even more details.
