Same thing with 99% of vendors really so not a big minus. The OP is a great deal. 8-bit P-MVA wide viewing angle, glossy panel.

For those interested in this monitor - make sure you're okay with glossy panels. I was 90% ready to fire away on this monitor, then I found out it had a glossy screen. Today, I went and tried some gaming and stuff on a friend's glossy laptop screen, and despised it. I absolutely cannot stand glossy screens, and that's the only reason I'm not picking this monitor - I'll be going with the Samsung 216BW for $240 (after coupon) instead. :x

Monitors have been steadily going down in price for over a year now. I'm going to hold out for a 30" widescreen for $50.

I just bought one.

I was totally willing to spend up to $400 on a non-TN panel (need the better viewing angle for photo editing), but this was the only thing less than like $500 in the size I was looking for (20" widescreen or bigger).

Great recommendation, thanks, seeing as though I also want this monitor.

How is gaming? Any ghosting?

Wow...I picked it up over a month ago for what I thought was a good deal: $250

I absolutely love this monitor. The glossy panel is only a problem in really high light situations. Mine came from the egg with absolutely no dead pixels, so no problem there. I notice zero ghosting in games (CS:S, BF2, FarCry, Half Life, solitaire etc). The colors and detail are absolutely amazing...for this price, you cannot find a better panel, heck for $400 you probably couldn't find a better panel.

Hehehehehehe

Thanks a whole lot but for those of you who don't know...I live in Jamaica.

Yes, it is that island in the Caribbean that is notorious for a lot of things (both good and bad).

I'm proud to be Jamaican!!

Honest question... This or the HP W2207, for gaming? I had been set on the HP until I saw this thread - I'm coming from an 18" with a 1280x1024 native res, so the resolution is higher with both, as is the screen size. Is a 20" widescreen noticeably larger than an 18?

This will be a better gaming monitor, highly recommended by xtknight...and yes you will see a big difference between 18" and 20" WS.

I can't see why the glossy screen would be problem. I don't see anything in it I don't want to. Unless you tilt it up into a light you will love this monitor for gaming, no ghosting.

I joined just to thank Cheex for finding this and xtknight for his helpful guide, which led me to appreciate differences in panels. Thank you both!

I placed the order yesterday at 9:30AM EST, Newegg processed it in 15 minutes, and shipped it same day. I got the monitor sometime between 10-11AM today...this with normal shipping too, probably the single best web transaction I've had. I've successfully connected the monitor, adjusted the resolution, and will be adjusting colors in a bit, although the out-of-the-box configuration was quite good. Let me say that the step up from a 17" Dell Ultrasharp to this is...just awesome. For the price I got this at, I could not be happier (unless it blows out on me...^.^).

Thanks again!
