Bought this a couple weeks ago but returned it. 8 minute burn in and a bent stand. Any amount of burn in on a monitor is totally bogus IMO
After several months it seems like there's less burn in, but it's still there. 4K videos do look pretty great on it though.

You guys sure it's not just image retention (vs complete burn-in)?

From my research it seems all current 40"/43" computer monitors suffer from varying degrees of image retention. They're all comparatively cheap, but

a) they use PWM for the backlighting
b) most if not all of them have a BGR subpixel layout; not so much an issue with Windows and ClearType, more of an issue on OSX
c) the aforementioned image retention issues

I can't or am not willing to deal with those, so I just went with a 32" UHD for this round. Hopefully the new Philips coming out will resolve these issues

Me: My name is Chaotic42. I have a monitor addiction.

Does having 11 working monitors in my house qualify me for membership? I live alone...

Also, what stand are you using for your two LGs in your OP?

Perhaps my eyes are that bad at 66, but I don't notice what you complain of.

It could be that I got a good monitor?

It is image retention. If it were complete and permanent burn-in, I doubt these panels would make it out of QC (I hope?)

Its nothing like real burn in (like an early 2000s plasma) where the burn is permanent. But on the panel I received the image would continually 'retain', as in two stills that were on the screen for more than ~8 min stayed visible collectively. You needed to leave a screen saver or shut the panel off for a time to reset it. So permanent burn in, no. Extended retention, sure.

No PWM on this panel, however the layout is BGR. I suspect this panel (TP Vision TPT430U3) was used purely because it was cheap to use. Hence the low price of the ET430K.

I'm thinking of purchasing an Acer ET430K but I can't find any details about how the picture-by-picture feature works. I wonder if there are any owners who could possibly help with this one.

I've got a 2012 MacBook Pro that supports multiple displays, but maxes out at 30Hz per output at 4K (3840x2160).

So I'm wondering if the ET430K can support side-by-side PBP from two inputs - either at 1920x2160 (vertical split) or 3840x1080 (horizontal split).

If anyone could possibly shed light on this - or even test those resolutions in PBP mode - that would be amazing!

Necro ... I actually did buy this product before the end of 2017. And now it is acting like the panel, its power supply or something else is dying. I need to go dig through the original carton for the warranty, but shockingly while I can still pull the Acer ET430K wmiiqppx product page on the manufacturer's website, it says nothing about warranty. Only NewEgg stated three years but I need to confirm that and if that is correct quickly begin measures to have this thing looked at.

The symptoms are I began seeing horizontal lines about 1/4 to 1/3 the way down the screen. It is in a band of about 3 inches wide. The lines are so thin to almost being on the individual pixel thickness. This arises and then goes away and seconds later the screen goes completely black as if the IPS panel lost power. It comes back seconds later and may repeat. This started last night and has already done it once this morning. Not the GTX 1060 card feeding it video because the card cannot get the IPS panel to complete go without power, only signal.

What is said about this is that under Linux this thing had been flawless. I most assuredly used my then Costco Amex card to buy this at MicroCenter in 12/2017, but since that account was closed because of Costco's move to Visa there ain't anything I can do to file a claim with them. Anyone else experience such a thing with their Acer ETxxxK series 4K monitor?

BTW, about imagine retention ... it is there but it always fades away. That has been my three-year long experience on that topic. But, anyone experiencing the above?
