The Acer XR341CK is now in stock at NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824106002. I just ordered one and will post my thoughts on it once I get it, hopefully this weekend.

I got home late last night and setup my new monitor early this morning. So far I am adjusting to the curve a a bit, however I am quite pleased with the panel so far. It took me about 30 minutes to configure the monitor settings to my liking.

First and foremost, there aren't any dead/stuck pixels which is what I generally worry about most when getting a new monitor. Second, Freesync is really nice - this is my first time seeing a Freesync display and it definitely works. I launched GTA5 and it looked amazing in ultrawide and even though I only get 40-60 fps on my 290x, there is no tearing and the gameplay feels very smooth. I tried a couple of other games (Diablo 3, Dota2, LoL, Crisis 3, Battlefield 4) and noticed that ultrawide worked for all but Dota 2, which doesn't support HUD scaling correctly.

I didn't buy this screen for gaming, as I generally don't have a lot of free time. I did buy this for productivity apps (ssh terminals, excel, sublimetext, etc) and it finally allows me to drop my second screen. I've always wanted to only have 1 display on my desk, and I think this should allow me to get away with it.

Overall, from brief experience so far, I hope ultrawide becomes more mainstream, as I really like the immersive feel when gaming plus the productivity benefits it allows. I'm looking to keep this monitor until they make a 2160p ultrawide (6720x2160) so here's to it it lasting a few years.

If anyone has any questions or wants me to test anything, let me know.

Oh and also to answer a question about the screen refresh rate, I definitely see it dropping to 30 and maxing at 75. I don't think it goes outside this range.

Any chance you can test the DisplayPort out / daishychaning / MST ? I have the Dell U3415W mainly for productivity and it has an issue with the 2nd display being limited to 640x480. (using certified DP1.2 cables, DP is set to 1.2, second display is 1.1)

congrats! I'm waiting on the G-Sync version.

What was your previous monitor and how would you compare them?

I just tried daisy chaining my previous Dell U3011 and had no luck. I will probably try again when in Windows 8 later. I am in Windows 10 now and it detected the 2nd display but didn't allow me to set any settings to enable it.

I'll keep you posted if I get it to work later.

I was previously using a 30" Dell Ultrasharp, found here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4070/dell-u3011-review-dells-new-30-inch-flagship.

I liked the Dell, however I always felt it was too tall. A 30" screen in 16:10 format creates so much wasted space for my field of view. I'm really liking the wider display as it makes more sense for both organizing applications as well as providing a more immersive feel. Also, I did watch a few youtube movie clips and I really like how the theater movies take up the entire screen with very small black bars.

My favorite part is that the Freesync version is > $200 less than the G-Sync version, which nearly pays for the $300 XFX 290x I bought 9 months ago. Granted, I'm thinking of getting a Fury Nano in August/September timeframe now that I realize a 290x isn't necessarily good enough to drive 3440x1440.

That's very close as I'm currently on a 3008wfp!

Can you give me some feedback on the following in a predator vs dell 3011 format?
color accuracy
color saturation
black levels
overall contrast
screen uniformity
60 vs 75 and if you can feel the difference is CS or other games (witcher 3 perhaps)

I'm into A/V so the quality of the picture is certainly something I value. With a 980Ti G-Sync is my only option so what can you do.

I tried in Windows 8.1 and still no luck. I'm not sure why it won't work, it just tells me I have an invalid selection each time I try to enable Extend.

I have to let you know that I'm no expert in any of those requests. You may have to stick to what the experts say, such as tft central.

I will fire up CS and see how it feels, however I'm not sure I'm the type to notice the 60 vs 75. What I do think I will notice is that the input lag on the 3011 was pretty high, so it should feel better regardless.

As for TW3, I do not own that title since I haven't even had a chance to play GTA5 more than 2 hours so far.

Bummer about being stuck with G-Sync... it would be nice if nVidia would just suck it up and support Adaptive-Sync

All good man. As you get more time with it, keep posting feedback. Can't wait to get this monitor.

As I've been doing research, nothing else seems to come close. I did see a few proper ratio'd 4k displays and they are tempting for sure! I think it'll come down to the wire for me but I really want the real estate for productivity.

Assuming the U3011 is DP 1.1, would expect to work in diashychain.
Thanks for trying.. looks like another return to Amazon.

I have 1 disappointing find from my XR341CK... it doesn't support the following resolutions: 2560x1080 or 2560x1440... What is up with that? It drops from 3440x1440 to next available 1920x1200...

I confirmed this in the manual as well.

Do you have access to CRU? Have you tried setting a custom resolution for those to see if it can display?
