acer5745g ram upgrade assistance :( !!

Hi All,

Am using acer5745g w/2 slots for ram, RAM Clocked at 532.2 Mhz Samsung 2x2GB.

Am planning to upgrade to 8GB am confused with RAM Frequency here.

1066MHz vs 1333MHz RAM acer 5745g ?? Please help ..... !!!

Which will be the best and if this Acer Laptop Supports 667Mhz freq and also if anyone is already having the same config please let me know the windows experience index for the same.

It will hardly ever matter to your laptop which RAM speed you would buy. It makes little difference for desktop except benchmarks. For laptops, the difference gets smaller to the point where it isn't even worth bothering. FYI, WEI is also a bad measure of performance.

punch your laptop (?) model into Crucial.com 's memory advisor. It will give you decent recommendations.

Your actual clock is 533Mhz, while the effective clock is 1066Mhz since DDR/DDR2/DDR3 transfer data twice per cycle. Basically any DDR3 SODIMM 533/1066Mhz or above should work fine.

Your Windows Experience Index may go up a little, but it's unlikely you'd really feel a difference between 1066Mhz and 1333Mhz DDR3.
