Acquired 2 new guns today

Ordered a service grade M1 Garand from the CMP a little bit ago and it arrived today. Looks brand new for being a service grade rifle. The wood is a brand new CMP stock. Serial # is in the 5 million area. Very happy with the rifle and CMP! My ammo just shipped so I'll have that soon.

This past Saturday I went to an auction and won that nice little Springfield Armory Trophy Match 1911 for a good price. Had to wait until today to pick it up.

That is a fantastic Garand. It is heads and shoulders above the Service Grade that I got from the CMP a few years back. I would have figured that they would have been scraping the bottom of the barrel by now. Then again, I didn't get a replacement stock but the metal I had looked pretty damn good but I think yours is a bit better. I had pretty dark bluing but I recall seeing that there was wear on the inside, I think the op rod was scraping up against the metal.

Which appears to be a steal since they seem to go for new at around $1300+.
This one is used, but its in great condition.

Very nice. Springfield trophy match's are decent 1911's. good score. I have a service grade and a collector grade garand myself, both are wonderful shooters (but I try not to shoot the collector grade much).

I recently was able to score a new in box but never fired S&W 686 4" for $300 (gotta love when other people go through a divorce and have to liquidate) a couple of weeks ago.
