I got a key from elsewhere and played it for 30 mins between Skyrim.

I'm impressed. A full blown Diablo clown for sure...but done nicely. The skill tree is just ridiculous. There's hundreds of skills.

the game really is very similar to diablo. i've only put about an hour into the game, but i like what i've seen so far.

There are 700+ choices, but really there are not that many skills. The skill tree you are talking about is the passive skill tree and is filled with a whole lot of +10 Str skills and the like. It does make from some interesting choices because while few of the skills make much of a difference the skill path you take does, and there are literally millions of different paths you can choose.

pretty entertaining game so far. i'm not too crazy about the current party format, nor the lack of a trade screen. it would also be nice if they had more detailed information on their website about the skill gem progression and unique items.

Remember that this is still a very early beta. New functionality is being patched in every week.

The party system is not complete, if you have ideas on how to improve it, then put it in their Suggestions forum. The devs actively read and reply to the forums and implement ideas that are popular.

The trade screen is expected to be in in the next patch, and selling to vendors will come after.

They don't have more information on skill gem progressions and unique items because they are changing pretty much weekly. What they put up today might not be applicable tomorrow.

The game is fun, but it is far from complete. They are still missing a class and several acts, there are areas in the game that you can go into that are incomplete (the church dungeon comes to mind.) Right now the animations for summonable zombies are broken.

Ive actually gone back to sacred 2. I dont know why i like that game so much but its DEEP and complex in character creation and advancement. It appeals to me somehow.

PoE could be good but I want to wait till its complete after playing it for a bit.

I got a random beta key for this last night, all I did so far though was make a char and run around on the beach a little. Seems like it could be good, the graphics look good and it runs well so it's got that going for it.

That trailer where the scenery jumps from current time, to this vision of twisted horror stuff, is just amasingly done.

As is the voice acting... the quality of this game looks impressive for F2P.

What do the skills look like? it seems like theres only 2-3 skills used in the intire trailer.

The "locked" view kinda like diablo II's has, looks well used, with Tree and walls, shadows to hide many a monster spawns that ll jump out at you

There is a decent sized player base, but remember it is a beta with limited invites so it is not huge.

As for the map, they don't have the full game in yet, but there is a good 20-30 hours of game play in currently, and on finishing what is in you can go up to the next higher difficulty.

i really like the game, but they need to work out lag issues on their side. you invest a bunch of time into a HC toon only to lose it during a lag spike or crash.

While I agree that the lag and synch problems need to be top priority, unless they changed things, you don't lose HC characters when they die, you just drop out of the hardcore league.

i play the HC league for the extra thrill. dying and dying all the time without consequences is not exactly my cup of tea.

Have they announced how they intend to make money since this is f2p. I assume they're going for microtransaction but if the only way to do well is to buy stuff, no thanks.

Gameplay is fun. Yes, it is a f2p, and they intend to sell things, but right now they are promising that it won't affect gameplay much. That mostly they are going to sale cosmetic changes, for example right now there is only one look for each class. If you want to be a witch you play a female character. So, if you want to play a male witch you will be able to buy a new character look. Respecs will probably be able to be bought too but you will also be able to grind a daily type quest for each point you want to respec.
