My Shadow's name is Lootzy, i think it goes by characters name not account name.

Maybe i will make a new guy that is HC.

Still a bit confused but what is what, and wish they would go to a money based currency.

if you guys haven't tried out the game, you really should. it's a great game, with tons of room to customize builds. kind of like D2 on steroids.

supposedly, open beta is coming soon, but if anyone is interested in a closed beta key, i'll probably have one to give out after i make a donation to GGG.

They need to solve lag/desync problems before they can launch open beta. It is not as easy as it sounds

open beta starts january 23rd! All characters will be reset to level 1 and all items will be deleted except for the demigods amulet

Last character wipe happen on the 23rd when open beta begins, which basically means the game is launching. I haven't been following this at all. Is this worth jumping in to? How's itemization? Is item running rewarding? Is there PvP and how does it work?

I haven't played in awhile simply because I didn't want to invest much time into a character that would be wiped. I can not wait for it to finally go to open, the game is very good. It is free to play so it doesn't hurt to just try it. I found the itemization to be good because you can change a lot of stuff.

Sweet, I enjoyed the game when I played it in beta but that constant feeling that eventually my stuff would be wiped prevented me from investing a lot of time into it.

I'll def be playing again after this final wipe, probably start up a hardcore character and play it in softcore after it inevitably dies.

Played this for a while about 4-5 months ago. Loved the dual wield assassin build with blink skill and greatly enjoyed the icy sorc. (err.. witch) Got really pissed off when the spark nerf patch came, and even more pissed when they reset all skills. Somehow that really killed all the fun for me and I stopped playing. Also, only 3 acts.. Beat on normal and nightmare, and burnt out. I hope they will add more content and more acts. I'll definitely come back.

I'll start up again on the 23rd. I liked the game but found it hard to invest time in it because of the constant wipes.

I would rather they move to gold coins rather than bartering. That's my main complaint.

It's not an MMO, it's an online ARPG. Think Diablo 3 but less shitty.

I'm still trying to decide what to make my first character. Thinking something ranged, either a witch nuker, a duelist or ranger bow user, or maybe a caster templar. I guess I should play around with the skill tree a bit before I decide.

There are a multitude of special merchant "recipes" where selling the correct combination of items to a merchant gives you something special in return, instead of the basic wisdom shards.

Particularly nice early on is the onyx amulet.

Recipe: Amulet + red Gem + blue Gem + green Gem
Reward: "Onyx" Amulet +10-20 to all stats

Also note that you can trade a combined 40% quality worth of armor (or weapons, or other item type) for a quality increasing item, so when you are deciding which junk items to pick up it's often worth taking items of quality even if the item is garbage otherwise.

It's a Diablo 2 clone with some new ideas and game mechanics that separate it from purely copying D2

It's F2P and open beta is supposed to start at 1 PM PST today, but I'm expecting their servers to be overloaded

the game is supported via micro transactions for additional character slots, shared stash slots, mini-pets, and cosmetic effects (aware of effects for helm and weapon so far)

I think accounts start out with 24 character slots and 4 shared stash slots

there is no auction house. the devs want players to engage in bartering and trading.
