Republican candidates helped to irresponsibly feed pure bullshit to their voters just to win a political position in an upcoming election.

I wonder if they think the deaths and injuries were worth it.

Of course they do, that's why they keep doing it. It's not just this one issue and one incident, there's an entire political media industry that profits from actively motivating people to act out of anger, fear, and hate. The money, votes, and influence it generates is worth more than the bodies that come along with it and nothing will change until that does.

Of course it's worth it. Repubs have been highly successful for decades with a variety of highly emotional issues revolving around self righteous moral indignation. Drugs. Guns. Race. Crime. Social programs. Taxes. Immigration. Abortion. There's a web of beliefs out there on the right fringe that runs deep & shapes attitudes at a deeply emotional level. It's the kind of virulent craziness that can break out into an epidemic from time to time. Various interests spread FUD to keep 'em irrationally riled up, easy pickins' for anybody who'll claim to advance their quixotic minority interests. You know, shit they wouldn't care about if somebody hadn't riled 'em up in the first place, fed 'em a bunch of wrong headed ideas.

Why would that leadership care who dies when they're sure it won't be them?

I think women deserve to live in a world where the C word isn't used. I have a beautiful niece who has two beautiful young daughters. It makes me sad they will grow up in a world where some will cast hatred on others of their gender by using words that are meant to vilify their sex organs. But because of the fact we hate ourselves, we all have to be slimed, especially innocent young children, I guess. I try not to add to that if I can. Hope you might see your way to that too. My bet is that good women everywhere would appreciate it.

Still, I can kind of get that. The mainstream media admittedly tries not to cover black on black gang violence, but it's pretty much a constant fact of life even if this particular case is rather spectacular. Terrorism on the other hand is much more rare and therefore much more valuable for market share. To paraphrase Chris Rock: I'm not saying they shoulda done it, but I understand.
