Actor Shatner sells kidney stone

Star Trek actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000 (£14,000) to an online casino, to raise money for a housing charity.

The 74-year-old actor agreed on Monday to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com.

"This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?" said Shatner.

This may seem like a dumb question, but where do you people get your kidney stones from?

Are they surgically removed?

Do they come out with your "waste"? If so, how are you able to get it? Do you guys dig through your turds?

Dpending on the size of the stone, they come out with your urine or are surgically removed.

They come out VERY painfully, through your penis. The bad ones are the small sharp edged ones, they can be like pissing razor blades.

Calcium buildup is one main reason for them, I believe the other type is from acid build up, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

That terrifies me. On the back of my head I had a rock solid bump about half an inch across attached to my skull. My doctor says it's called a "Wen," aka "sebaceous cyst." Supposed to be a fatty or acid build up. I've had it for atleast 20 years (I remember having it in kintergarden). I've never had one yet, but because of the wen perhaps I'm susceptible to these "kidney stones."

I had one of those on my back. Took a dermotologist 5 minutes to cut and pop that sucker out. Few stitches and I was on my way.

Was it hard as a rock? And mine is attatched to my skull. I would imagine it wouldn't be as easy. But no one can see it because of my hair.
