I did the same comparison, Acura vs subaru.. I like the power more but Comptech has a S/C for the acura.. 3995.. so it'll be as good as a legacy..

but subaru may have a legacy gt spec b by end of year, good for 276 hp.. so

anyway, I have a tsx now... its more cooler interior than a legacy, plus I got the nav and the other crap.. its heavy car.. not a speedster.. if you're looking for speed, TSX is not the car unless you spend another 5k on it..

the 6MT is really smooth so.. enjoy... both are pretty good car but target for different market...

Acura TSX!! (add a-spec suspension and CT rear swaybar)

you can get the subby GT for it's power/awd, but you get much more in the TSX w/nav 6MT. you can't compare the shifting or interior b/c the TSX p/\wns it (yes i drove the GT). get navi option and it integrates with nearly everything in the car. acura is no slouch!

Depends on if you give a h00t about Navi. I could care less. Besides, a lot easier to extract more power from the Subi then from the TSX. Besides, the Subi is at least 2k cheaper then the TSX. Don't make out the subi to have a "GM" interior

I'd definatly go for the Subaru ... though the TSX is not too bad of a car either ....

if you are into modding cars - then the GT. heck..the GT anyways. I like the TSX, but the GT is just a better car. and because of turbo, you can easily get 30-50 hp by chipping

i've got nothing against the subby. i also drive a wrx, and i love the turbo'd engines. and lets not talk about ricing your GT, i can rice the tsx too (not that i'm going to)

i give a h00t about the navi - and all the gadgets!

edit: to the original poster - just test drive the three cars and decide what you want. ignore us fools

The Subaru is probably made in America, the Outbacks are made in Indiana...

You have to ask yourself. Are you a car nut? Do you care about racing at every red light? Do you still drive like you are 19? How old are you? The fact that you are connsidering a luxury SEDAN means you are probably concerned with things like ride comfort, 4 doors, reliability etc. If you want a sports car, get one. The Legacy GT trumps the TSX in performance, sure. But to keep the price reasonable, they had to skimp on other stuff like the interior, navigation etc. The TSX comes in only two configurations. Fully loaded with navigation. Or fully loaded without. Try adding the extras onto the GT to make it match the TSX. You'll be paying a lot more. I like passing slow drivers and hitting corners at high speed as much as the next guy. I also realize though that I don't really care as much about my 0-60 as I do about how I feel sitting in a car for long periods of time.

I went through the same dilemna as you, except I included the Saab, Volvo S40, and Mazda RX-8 in the lineup. I ended up with the TSX after very exhaustive evaluation. I am completely satisfied.

Depends what you want in a car... if you want power, go with the Subaru. However, if you want an overall well-engineered automobile, go with the TSX. The only downside to the TSX is the engine, but you won't think about that too much when you realize just how good the rest of the car really is.

How is the Sonata in the same group as the others?

I like the AWD of the Subie, but I think the TSX may hold its value better.

maybe cuz recent reviews auto magazines rated them top notch, at least for their price bracket?
