Sometimes using the same GUI isn't necessarily a bad thing. Think of the average computer "expertise" of users using Ad Aware. The program really only needs 3 buttons to work, so why make things fancy and confuse people?

There is no doubt that the detection rates still suck compared to other apps. If you are interested in deleting cookies, MRU's, and letting new malware go undetected then AAW might be for you.

On their support forum, they state that they discovered a glitch late in testing which caused the Vista edition to be delayed.

Summary: Use something else.

everytime I run ad-aware 2007 on my laptop or desktop (both use windows vista ultimate), the program will just freeze up. not sure what causing that, regular ad-aware se works fine on both of my systems.

Ad-Aware doesn't do anything except delete my cookies...

I'm amazed people use/pay for such crap software.

I installed it on Vista and it crashed. then i found that it's not for vista. I'm pretty suprised that it's not ready for Vista yet.

Interesting, I remember back in the day this thing worked like a charm. I even used it on a VPs laptop that had over 28,000 infected files and 23 process's running. Our corp AV suite didnt stop squat. His laptop basically turned into a giant piece of advertising upon login, hundreds of pop up windows coming from everywhere.

Sad to see it fall from the ranks.
