Ad-Ware slowing me down

There is some kind of software/ad-ware that someone in my family has downloaded that is slowing down my computer. it is "Bullseye Network." Windows XP-using Add/Remove Software does nothing to remove the program. And the computer will not allow me to delete the files, saying they are protected or in use. Is there any way for me to get rid of this problem? It is bringing my cimputer to a stand still. Thanks.

Try booting into safe mode and removing that way.

If they are protected and in use it probably means they are starting up with Windows.
Run msconfig and see what kind of crap you have starting up.
Reboot. Then run Lavasofts Ad-Aware to clean them out.

A quick Google of the 'application' name results in the following: PC Hell Bargain Buddy Removal Instructions. Looks like it might be packaged with other spyware, too.

After cleaning more PCs than I'd like to remember, I can suggest that Googling the spyware/malware/virus name will quickly show steps on how to remove it.
